According to Crooks and Liars, CNN's reporter asks Cheney, "Are you getting a lot of that Mr. Vice President?"
Cheney replies, "First time I've heard it., Must be a friend of John..., er, ah - never mind."
The reason why he hasn't heard it is because, as usual, the Bush administration is running around with its hands over its ears. They can't take criticism, instead spewing partisan rhetoric and talking points. Never will you see them engage in discussion with someone of an opposing viewpoint. Never will you see them "helping" someone who is angry with them for staying on vacation while their lives were destroyed. You only see staged situations with people that would never have enough courage to call them on their complete lack of help when this crisis started. All of this is a public relations exercise for them. Not that I blame them, of course. If I knew I was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, I would be spinning a web of PR lies as well.
Also, is this really the time to be making jokes about John Kerry? Is a joke like that really appropriate when you are surrounded by death and destruction, many of these deaths occuring while you were on vacation in Wyoming, or house hunting in Maryland?
On the other side though, we did find out today though that Dick Cheney isn't dead, unless they got a pretty good look-alike.
