Editorial Reviews:

Small-town librarian Charity Prewitt never dreamed she'd meet and fall in love with a man like Nicholas Ames. The handsome, rich, charming, sexy-as-hell millionaire blew into tiny Parker's Ridge, Vermont, and immediately rocked her world. Powerful, sensual, the perfect man, Nick knows all the right words—and all the right spots to touch, sending her soaring to dizzying new heights of ecstatic abandon. Never before has prim and proper Charity leapt into bed with a perfect stranger—and now that she's there with him, nothing is going to drag her away!

But Nick Ames is not who he claims to be. In truth, he is Nicholas Ireland—the one they call "Iceman." A former Delta Force operator, now a high-level undercover agent, he will do whatever his government asks of him—lie, seduce, betray . . . even kill, if necessary—for the sake of the mission. And this time his mission is Charity Prewitt.

Suddenly one woman has broken down his chilly restraint and ignited his passions completely. And before the erotic dream turns into a nightmare, will Charity be able to melt the Iceman's cold, cold heart?

Summary: All the ingredients for me to hate it...
Comment: I picked up this book randomly. It probably wasn't the best idea because I'm not the biggest fan of the romance genre.

But if I had of known this book featured marriage and pregnancy then I probably would have never started it in the first place because those two events are "book-killers" for me.

I liked the first couple of chapters. I was intrigued by Nick "Iceman" Ames and was looking forward to the eventual breakdown of his emotional defences. Turns out that breakdown took less than a day, love was pronouced within three days, marriage within a week, and then pregnancy shortly after.

It was too "love at first sight" for me. I skimmed most of this book, especially the pages where he dotted over her, her house, her toes, her scent etc. It was all too fluffy for more tastes.

Summary: kind of dull and grim so far
Comment: I have only read the first five chapters so far and I don't have much of an urge to keep reading. I've read several other books by this author that captured my interest very quickly and kept it all the way through. There just isn't the kind of zing you get when there is real romantic tension in this book. I like a romance where it is like a tango or flamenco or even a romantic waltz in a 19th century candlelit ballroom. This is like two teenagers at a boring prom trying to dance to a bland variety of rock music in uncomfortable formal clothes. Hard to get any romantic tension out of that. The female main character in particular is continually deliniated as a parragon of worthiness. Her character needs more personality and less worthiness. Also, it looks like the romance, such as it is will, be upstaged by too much of this harsh terrorist/organised crime stuff. I like it when a romance is teamed with a mystery or some suspense and a bit of action, and I like it well done. It should add extra excitement to the romance, not bog it down in grimness. The other books I read by this author were pretty good, but so far this one is disappointing.

Summary: From J. Kaye's Book Blog
Comment: I discovered this author at Ellora's Cave Publishing and fell in love with her Midnight series. The writing was tight and intense. DANGEROUS SECRETS is published by Avon Red. The books are thicker, but find I don't like them nearly as much. This is my second book from this publisher. The last one was by a different author. Both times, I was left feeling a bit cheated. At $13.95 a pop, I expected more from Avon Red, not less.

Summary: FABULOUS!!!!
Comment: This book was in a word, fabulous. A book with both great sex and a great LOVE story is a rare find. This wrapped them together in an unforgettable package. Kudos Ms. Rice!

Summary: A Fun Read
Comment:
5 Stars.
Dangerous secrets is a fast paced and very enjoyable new thriller by Lisa Marie Rice.
This is one of those books that you don't want to put down, the story is just that good! It features a tall dark and very sexy hero,a beautiful damsel in distress, and a truly evil villain who will make your blood run cold.

The author has done an excellent job with her character building, and I found the characters to be extremely interesting and likable. At times I even found myself feeling sorry for villain because of the torture that he'd endured in a Russian prison.

This book, although it does have sex in it, isn't as explicit as some erotic romances. This probably is because the hero is more of a right to the point kind of lover. Luckily for him Charity seems to be the same kind of gal, otherwise it probably wouldn't work for them.
