Summary: Dannion walks in truth
Comment: Dannion has been a personal friend for many years and I for one believe every word in this book. As for the Stolen Valor nonsense, Dannion doesn't lie, the military does. They've proven that repeatedly, case in point, Iraq. Dannion genuinely cares for all combat veterans and has devoted his life to Hospice work. Actions speak louder than words on a sheet of paper. It's common sense, really.

Summary: A Life-Changing Experience
Comment: Dannion Brinkley's story is one of the most fascinating and compelling near-death experiences I've ever read. He tells his story with such enthusiasm and explains his story in vivid detail. Normally most people get to the end of a tunnel and feel the warm light of love but really go no further (perhaps up to the gates of heaven or to a life review).

Dannion goes into what sounds like heaven and meets with a spiritual guide who shows him his life in a life-review situation. The beauty of this book is that the author has two near-death experiences and his life review during the second experience is much better and shows he learned to love and serve humanity.

To be honest this book is a real page-turner and you won't be able to put it down until you have read the final sentence. As someone who reads about near-death experiences whenever I can I can say this is the best book I've ever read on the topic. The difference between Dannion's story and the rest of the stories I've heard is that he gets to see future events and also has amazing psychic powers after the experience. I've never heard of anyone else coming back and reading minds.

I can't prove whether or not the author is telling the truth but to me the story seemed true and believable. What is truly amazing is how the author survived being struck by lightning. That in itself makes this a great story.

Comment: This is one of the best books I have ever read. It contains the true story of a man's life that was changed after his experience on the other side. His life story is documented and the change within him is obvious. This story can not be refuted and yet... who would want to? It's an amazing story with an amazing revelation to all!

Summary: A Word to the Wise
Comment: Er, folks, there's something you should know about the author - he was exposed as a phoney combat vet in the book "Stolen Valor." Brinkley claimed to be a Marine sniper in Vietnam when he had his first "near death experience." His military records (obtained by the authors of "Stolen Valor" through the F.O.I.A.) show he drove a truck in California during his service - the guy never got anywhere near Vietnam.

If you want to take spiritual advice from a liar, hey, be my guest.

Summary: I Don't Buy It
Comment: The impression I get from this book is that Brinkley is trying to cash in on the popularity of Betty Eadie's wonderful book, "Embraced by the Light." But I don't believe this guy. What lost me was his claim that the angels told him to open a chain of health spas. Uh huh.
