Editorial Reviews:

Med School Confidential uses the same chronological format and mentor-based system that have made Law School Confidential and Business School Confidential such treasured and popular guides. It takes the reader step-by-step through the entire med school process--from thinking about, applying to, and choosing a medical school and program, through the four-year curriculum, internships, residencies, and fellowships, to choosing a speciality and finding the perfect job.
With a foreword by Chair of the Admissions Committee at Dartmouth Medical School Harold M. Friedman, M.D., Med School Confidential provides what no other book currently does: a comprehensive, chronological account of the full medical school experience.

Summary: Much better books available
Comment: This book tries to do too much.. You're better off getting a great basic science gem like "How to study in medical school" to help you conquer the basic sciences, and teaming that up with "Iserson's guide to getting into residency" to help with your 3rd/4th year of med school.

And plus it really makes you wonder when the lead author is the same author as "Law school confidential" and "Business school confidential". Most of the information presented is vague and not always applicable. Stick with books written by MD's, such as "How to study in Medical School" or "How to excel in Medical School".

Summary: Interesting read
Comment: I appreciate that this book really breaks the medical school process down into its parts, and gives you some good insight. However, I think it lacked some detail. It is a good place to start for learning the basics of what going through medical school will be like, but I think it could have used a little bit more depth.

Summary: Gift that went well
Comment: Bought this for my girlfriend who is going to MedSchool. She seems happy as a pup with two tails about this book. I don't know how, Med students creative writing skills are worst that a sloth, but I don't think they care much for creative so much as they look for factual data.

Summary: Perfect book for aspiring med students!
Comment: This book contains everything technical I needed to know to apply for medical schools. It gives you all the step by step guides. It also gives you detailed, necessary information according to how early or late you may be in the preparation process. This book was a great purchase! I absolutely recommend it.

Summary: Great Book
Comment: I didn't have any contact with medicine before college and was in desperate need for good information. This is a great resource.
