Summary: 1001 suggestions but didn't use many of them on a 4 day visit
Comment: I tried to read this book, jumping around to this and that, but since this was a first family trip with kids many were not applicable, and others were just a bit too quirky or didn't grab me. The writing was great - very descriptive and evocative - and it gave me a great flavor of NYC before the trip so 3 stars for that. I really want to see the unicorn tapestry next visit though.

Comment: I loved the ideas in this book! I took some of the ideas and had a great time...you'd have to spend a month non stop to do it all!! I'd recommend this book for anyone who's looking for the New York classics old and new along with things way off the beaten path!

Summary: The Best NYC travel companion
Comment: I spent a week and a half in NYC last Thanksgiving visiting my sister. Since a lot of my exploring was on my own while she worked, this was a great way to plan out my days. I went through prior to my trip and flagged all of the things I wanted to see and do while I was there and by the end of my trip I had almost all of them checked off my tourist list. The only thing that would have been nice would be to make the book a pocket/tote size for carrying around more easily. I carried it with me the entire trip. The best part, was seeing that my sister (a New Yorker for over a year now) has a copy as well!
