"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth!" From White Zombie to Dawn of the Dead, Resident Evil to World War Z, zombies have invaded popular culture, becoming the monsters that best express the fears and anxieties of the modern west. Gathering together the best zombie literature of the last three decades from many of today's most renowned authors of fantasy, speculative fiction, and horror, including Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, Robert Silverberg, George R. R. Martin, Clive Barker, Poppy Z. Brite, Neil Gaiman, Joe Hill, Laurell K. Hamilton, and Joe R. Lansdale, The Living Dead covers the broad spectrum of zombie fiction.

Customer Rating: Summary: myriad themes Comment: Enjoyed the variety and fresh ideas. Not all the stories were very interesting though some were excellent. Worth buying and rereading after some time passes.
Customer Rating: Summary: awesome Comment: this book is loaded with all kinds of tales of the undead. Love stories, dramas, plays, and just flat out snuff literature. a fine addition to any zombie lovers book collection.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dull as Dishwater Comment: Though this collection has a couple of decent zombie stories, most of them range from dish water dull to insipid. Even then the decent stories were re-treads from earlier books.
At least one of the "Zombie" stories doesn't even involve actual zombies, but just an ex-con running around talking about zombies. I finished the entire story waiting for it to get better, but alas no reward. That was 15 minutes of my life I want back. Ugghh.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nothing special at all Comment: This book was pretty boring to read. Several of the stories had little to do with zombies (especially Some Zombie Contigency Plans by Kelly Link), or if they had zombies they were minor parts to the story overall.
Out of the 34 stories or so there were maybe 5 or 6 good ones.
This anthology was a waste of money.
Customer Rating: Summary: Awsome Comment: This book is awsome. Stephen King's short story in this book is great. I highley recomend this book.
