The Deluxe takes it all a step further by including additional drugs and dosing indications, black-box warnings, notes regarding adverse effects and drug interactions, and a table of cytochrome P450 isozymes. Packed with this expanded information and more tables than the Classic, the Deluxe is still small enough to comfortably fit in your lab coat pocket. As with the Classic, all entries are meticulously peer-reviewed by drug information experts and clinicians of multiple specialties.
Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: a must have in your jacket pocket unless you have a good PDA Comment: PDA's have taken over as quick pocket references, but I still use this booklet frequently enough to make it worth buying. There are IV drips on the back pages that many never noticed were there, elimination abbreviations ( explanation in first few pages of booklet:L=liver, K=kidney, and L+O= liver and onions (chek it out! I love this diddle!)) Worth the price or freebie from a drug rep. Make SURE U are using the most RECENT year, not an old one, as changes are so frequent in medicine! Customer Rating: Summary: Duh. . . Tarascon is the Gold Standard for drug reference Comment: I've been a practicing internist for more than 10 years. Although much of my practice and reference materials are on computer, nothing can take the place of my Tarascon Pharmacopoeia. It is an absolute must for not only medical students and residents, but all those in primary care. I call it my "drug brain" and I feel lost without it.
