Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing novel Comment: This book was on Chuck Palahniuk's recommendation list so i had to check it out. I recommend this novel - highly. It is a fast read and the story is so creative and interesting. Please buy this book.
Customer Rating: Summary: A solid read Comment: Craig Clevenger's "The Contortionist's Handbook" provides a solid "in between" read. It's the kind of book you can easily finish in a few sittings while deciding what novel you want to really immerse yourself in next. The characters and plot develop well throughout and the language used is excellent. It's lack of depth is what keeps it at the level of a fun read for me and will keep it from being an all time great, though the author himself shows great promise. I do recommend this book, though. Well worth the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: Must read! Comment: It was a little shorter than I would like, but then it you won't be wasing anytime if its not for you. Clevenger's writing style is very much like Chuck Palanuik's. He enthralls you from the first page. I loved his characters and running banter. A truly original piece of work
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty good. A little Chuck Pahalahoonicky for me. Comment: This book is pretty good, but Cleavenger's writing style is a little too similar to Chuck P's. I should have known, based on the Chuck quote right on the cover, but whatever. It was still a good read.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great book... Comment: I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed this book. Clevenger uses a very interesting and refreshing premise for this book. John Vincent (main character) is someone who makes the reader thankful that they are not in his position, but still makes the reader sympathetic for what Vincent has gone through in his life. Craig Clevenger shows serious talent for writing and I am looking forward to reading other novels of his. Overall, "A" grade for this selection.
