Customer Rating: Summary: Right out of Charlmagnes Tales of Chivalry Comment: I have loved this movie since I first saw it in the 80s. It may not be the best acted but it has great heart and spectacular visuals. Orlando, Ruggero, Bradamante, Rinaldo and the others take their inspiration from the legends of Charlmagne and his knights and create a fairy tale of a movie to enjoy. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD as my VHS copy is starting to wear out. A movie to see if you enjoyed Legend, Ladyhawke, Labyrinth and the Princess Bride
Customer Rating: Summary: Romance with an edge Comment: If you like a romance story to go with your swordplay then this movie just might be what you are looking for. Watch it with your sweetheart for Valentines day. If you are looking for good plot try something else, as the plot is weak and the acting isn't great either, but for spending time with the wife or girlfriend while watching an action movie that won't offend them it is an excellent choice.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nostalgic and Romantic Comment: I simply love this film. It is cheesy and even somewhat exploitive in places but the themes of truth, honour, true love and unrequited love put it at a level way above other fantasy movies of the Eighties. It even manages to be a solid anti-war movie at the same time that it celebrates the glory of single combat. Although it features half the characters from Orlando Furioso, it doesn't really pursue any of their stories except in the broadest possible terms.
Its got Tanya Roberts (woohoo!). Its got scantily clad women (did I mention Tanya Roberts?). Its got knights in shining armour. Its even got a samurai in the middle of Dark Ages Spain.
Perhaps its most endearing character is the Princess' mad Moorish bodyguard who wears feathered scale armour with a bird shaped helmet (and wierder armour than this actually existed).
I highly recommend it as a beer and pretzels movie for a Sunday afternoon.
Customer Rating: Summary: A great movie from the eighties. Comment: The first time I saw this was in 84' on ktla movies till dawn. it was magical. A movie that neither has good or bad guys. There are some of the most beautiful scenes like when bradamante rode past rogero about half way thru the film. The story line was simply great. The final scene still lingers in my mind. One day it will be released on DVD. It is too good of a movie not to be. considering the quality of movies that are being released today, I would hope that the day will come soon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Romatic at Heart Comment: I couldn't believe it when I watch this movie still, I still love it. When the Prince of the Moore's and a Prince of the Christians and five of each of their fellow knights go for battle. Has some of the best fighting scenes, the best romance scenes. You got to see this movie. If you like a lot of fighting, handsome men and beautiul women, romance, this is your movie. You have to give it a try.
