Prudence--the round-cheeked, pony-tailed heroine of Alona Frankel's book of the same name--can provide further inspiration to young daughters with her video adventure. As with her print counterpart, the animated Prudence wonders if her grandmother's gift could be a birdbath or a flowerpot before she settles down to the business at hand. Unlike the book, Prudence gets a grand introduction in the form of a music video of "The Potty Song," complete with toddlers frolicking among portable potties. A lyric sheet is included and moms will appreciate the equality mindedness of songwriter Art Frankel ("Wee-wee goes there / Poo-poo goes there / Then Daddy wipes behind me and that is that!"). The second half of this 24-minute video is a "Parent's Guide," in which a prominent pediatrician goes over the basics: signs of readiness, terms, methods, and expected ages (for example, girls usually train before boys, but don't force it). --Kimberly Heinrichs

Summary: The Greatest potty video ever!
Comment: My daughter watched this video and was potty trained in an instant! She watched this video when she was two, I gave her lots of juice and water so she had a full bladder and I set her lil potty in front of the tv. I turned the video on and she peed in the potty! And she went on her lil potty from that day on! It was a very successful video, it made her be proud to go on the potty and feel sucesful that she could acomplish the task. I would recommend this video to everyone! My dauhgter wanted to watch it all the time, so I let her! She loves to sing along with the video. And she was fully potty trained by 2 and a half. No problems here! I would recommend this video for anyone who wants to have their kiddo potty trained in no time!

Comment: I have 3 nephews that used the Boy Version of Once Upon A Potty and now my daughter is using the Girl Version. She loves the video and can watch it over and over. Kids seem to really connect with the character and want to imitate them. She is already sitting on her potty from just watching the video. Amazing!

Comment: This DVD is OK but doesn't hold my 2 year olds interest for very long. She prefers the Go Potty Go DVD over this one.

Comment: I have had multiple potty books. Even one's that made a flushing sound. Nothing worked. This video as annoying as the song is got my daughter interested. And in days she was going to the potty. I also got the book- not necessary. The dvd was suficent. I would recommend this to everyone. However, this is the only dvd I have tried. Some people have had problems with the language used- hole for pooping, poop etc... I thought it was fine and definitely got the point across. Shows children the anatomy in a cartoon. Like I said before- It really gets their attention, and that's half the battle!
