Summary: Dear is Right To get on any format. Wonderful Film
Comment: This is a wonderful film, i never got a chance to see it when i was younger i don't know why( i saw alot of disney Titles). but i did a couple days ago,when i bought this title on vhs. it was a kind and loving story with the two child actors from Song of the South. i'll probably end up buy it on dvd. i have no idea what is so offensive about it, i saw nothing bad in it. but a great story with great songs by:Burl Ives. but Disney as usual is being a butt about releasing anything that is good. so what else is new. this is a story about a boy wanting a horse,but end up settling for lamb instead and the lessons that he learns along with his grandma and sweet hearted uncle.
Highly Recommended Disney Title To Get.

Comment: If you've anxiously awaited a North American DVD release of this film only to be disappointed that Disney has delayed it indefinitely, there is an alternative! An official Region 4 Disney DVD has been released in Brazil, yet is 100% compatible with Region 1 NTSC systems of the US and Canada.
When searching for So Dear To My Heart here at Amazon, you'll find a few results. Look for the Disney DVD named "Meu Querido Carneirinho". Only the cover and disc artwork are in Portuguese, but when you play the disc, the first thing that you'll see is a selection of languages. Just choose "English" and from there you'll be able to enjoy the movie and wonderful special features exactly as if it was a US release.

Rare Footage - About a half an hour of outtakes and unused footage.
Stills Gallery - Movie photos, posters, and production art.
Facts Gallery - Interesting trivia.
BTW, although the price might be attractive, stay away from the Chinese DVD release. I don't think it is even an official Disney disc. The picture quality is poor compared to the remastered Disney DVD and it has no special features.

Comment: This video is one of Disney's loveliest forgotten classics. It has been my favorite video ever since I was little. I am glad they are getting out a new DVD. What happened to all the good entertainment of yesterday? Buy this DVD! You will love it.

Summary: Sweetest Cutest most Classic Movie
Comment: This movie is the most wonderful movie. Not only is it a treat to see Burl Ives, it is such a wonderful family movie. It teaches responsibility, love, devotion. I cannot wait until it comes out on DVD.
Not sure what is taking so long, but I will purchase it, when it comes out.
