Summary: Not what I expected
Comment: I wish I would have read the reviews on this video before I purchased it. If your wanting to see the bands perform this is a big disappointment. If you love Sonic Youth you'll probably like it and don't get me wrong there are bits of it that are funny but it's pretty much the lead singer talking and acting stupid through the whole thing. I didn't find that amusing at all, I hate that dude! I just wanted him to shut up and show the bands playing. Then it finally shows Nirvana and through every song the camera jumps around and it flashes to other stupid stuff so you don't see much of the band and what they do show is not the best of any of the bands. It's very unfortunate because it could have been a good video if they would have just filmed the bands playing and left out some of the other stuff. All and all from quality to sound it is not a great value for the money I paid.

Summary: Why is there no DVD yet?
Comment: I don't understand. There really should be. Its the highlight of Sonic Youth's career. This is why record companies can't be trusted to manage artists. Their best work becomes unavailable unless you want to spend insane amounts of money for it. I feel sorry for anyone who has to pay more than $30 to see this.

Summary: ROCK OR DIE
Comment: How is this not out on DVD remastered? This is an awesome tour documentary on some really important bands. The filming is epileptic, the bands thrash out, Sonic Youth's Teen Age Riot performance is brilliantly edited, Nirvana self-destructs every time they're on stage, and the band members are allowed their sense of humor backstage. This isn't The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter - Criterion Collection, but it's pretty amazing anyway. The unexpected extras are real treats as well, including Dinosaur Jr. and a brief cameo by Iggy Pop. You have to be a fan of the music to some extent, but if anything is going to convert you to Sonic Youth this will be it.

Summary: I Saw This Back In The Day
Comment: I saw this movie back in the early 90's and I still think about it. I bought it tonight so I can share it with people that don't understand the punk rock / alternative culture.
It's a good one to have in your movie library.
