Customer Rating: Summary: Actually a good WCW PPV Comment: I'm a big fan of pre-NWO WCW, where Ric Flair, Sting, Ricky Steamboat and others ruled. Spring Stampede is overall enjoyable, but the stand out matches are Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne vs. The Nasty Boyz (which you could see with much better quality on the Mick Foley DVD) and Flair/Steamboat. Right before Hogan came to WCW, Flair's old rivalries with Steamboat, Sting and Barry Windham were going through a renaissance in 1994 to make Hogan's eventual win over him seem greater. I love every Flair/Steamboat match so I can't say where this one ranks, but it's definitely a classic. Customer Rating: Summary: One WCW Pay Per View that is worth your money Comment: The Main Event featured the two of the greatest competitors in wrestling history for the Heavyweight Championship of the World. Ric Flair defended his title against one of his all time greatest rivals in Ricky Steamboat. The match was a classic, not the best one they ever had, but certainly in the top five. I've never seen these two have a bad match. This particular match went around 30 minutes. Some other matches on the tape include Steve Austin at the top of his WCW run defending his title against the legendary Great Muta. This match was a good one except for the way it ended. Sting challenged Rick Rude for the International World Title in a pretty good match. The Nasty Boys took on Cactus Jack and Maxx Payne in a Street Fight Tag Team Title match. This match was a classic and shows what Mick Foley (Cactus Jack) will do to make the fans feel like they got their moneys worth. Vader met Big Boss Man in a match that wasn't that memorable. Dustin Rhodes faced Bunkhouse Buck in a Bunkhouse match which was pretty good. Lord Steven Regal defended his Television Title against Brian Pillman in a match which wasn't very noteworthy. Although, I think Steven Regal (William Regal in WWE) would make a great World or WWE Champion. Overall this tape is a great tape is you're a true wrestling fan. Another plus about this tape is that the whole show wasn't overshadowed by whatever Hulk Hogan was doing that night like in every pay per view WCW had after Hogan arrived there. Customer Rating: Summary: One of the best PPV's the WCW produced Comment: Solid pay per view which shows that WCW didn't need Hogan to be entertaining. The main event is great and the rest of the card was awesome. Great effort by everyone involved. Before the Hogan era so that should be enough for you to buy this tape. Customer Rating: Summary: A great WCW Pay Per View. No I am not kidding. Comment: If you are a fan of the old WCW, namely the pre Hogan era, then this is a tape that I highly recommend. To be honest there is not one bad match on this entire card. Obviously the Flair/Steamboat match stole the show in what was another classic between these two. But Sting and Ravishing Ric Rude have a great battle for the then WCW international World title. This pay per view is good because you have the great wrestling matches like the previous 2 that were mentioned, but it also has hard hitting knock down drag out matches. The Chicago street fight is awesome and Cactus Jack takes a sick bump for 94 standards. You also have a great Bunkhouse Brawl with Dustin Rhodes and Bunkhouse Buck, in which both men are busted wide open. Vader and The Boss even have a better than avergave match for two gigantic men. And as an added bonus you get to see Steve Austin in his pre beer guzzling days as he defends the U.S. belt against the Great Muta. If you never seen Muta then this is a treat. Johhny B. Badd takes on DDP and you see a fantastic TV title match between Brian Pillman and Steven Regal. All in all I don't think many can argue that Spring Stampede is the best WCW PPV of 1994 and the 2nd best PPV of the big 2 behind Wrestlemania 10. If you can get this tape for a price that you feel comfortable with, you should pick it up.
