The long-defunct, Southern California band regrouped for an album, an expensive tour (expensive for ticket buyers, that is), and this televised special, which features the Eagles in performance. Laid-back but sharp and even stirring during a longish acoustic set, the guys quickly get past the nostalgia element and sound truly viable. They even make it look easy: the sight of Joe Walsh wearing glasses and sitting in almost perfect repose as he effortlessly colors old hits "Tequila Sunrise" and new material such as "Learn to Be Still" may make you wonder why you ever stashed that guitar in the attic. But the band eventually gets off their stools and rocks out on "Hotel California" and other Eagles standards. All in all, it's an enjoyable and mellowing show. --Tom Keogh

Comment: I've been watching & listening to The Eagles for more years than I'll mention. This is a great album! I've watched it many times, and just bought a copy for my son in Austin, who's really into music. He'll love it!

Summary: Felder's skills are unbeatable...!
Comment: This is a great performance. It shows Don Felder's amazing talent with a guitar. Joe Walsh is great too, though a little subdue - probably due to the rehabilitation he was newly emerging from. These two amazing guitarists play off each other perfectly and with the wonderful chemistry they used to have before the band's break-up.
Everyone else in great form, too; Henley's voice is out of this world - though I wish he would tone down the theatrical gestures and facial expressions of pretentious indifference - and Tim Schmit sings like an angel, as always! That speech from Henley, about 'how very glad he is they are all friends again' grated badly and the insincerity of this big-headed, gifted performer - I emphasize performer - is big-time CRINGE. Watch the expression on Felder's face here!
Just GET OVER IT and get on with it! We all know the real story already, even long before Felder's book; don't waste your breath and our patience, pushing your crap down our throats.
But yes, Eagles fans - get this DVD. You will love the sound, the songs and the extraordinary skills of Joe Walsh and Don Felder, especially in Hotel California! Flying fingers of Felder's!

If you like the Eagles at all then you must purchase this DVD. The sound and quality are excellent. Closest thing to being there in person.
You will not be disappointed with this purchase. If you have surround sound even better. Enjoy!
