Editorial Reviews:

When the planetarium is closed for a field trip, it's no problem for Ms. Frizzle--star of Scholastic's award-winning Magic Schoolbus series. She simply takes the class to outer space on the Magic-School-Bus-turned-spaceship. As she puts it, outer space is "the only planetarium open 24 hours a day, seven days a week." The kids explore each of the first four planets with Ms. Frizzle, until they hit an asteroid and are separated from their teacher. They must play detective to figure out which planet she's on, working from a few clues. For example, Ms. Frizzle tells them, "the colder it gets, the hotter you are to finding me." Kids age five and older will learn interesting facts about each planet throughout the adventure. They'll also pick up information about relative distances in space, how gravity works, and why Earth is the only planet in our solar system that can sustain life. --Elisabeth Keating

Comment: I can't say enough good things about The Magic School Bus! I love the inspiration it gives to kids of all ages. Everyone dreams of having a teacher like this! My son watches this video all the time, and loves it! I recommend getting Magic School Bus movies in a boxed set, with 3 or more. That way you get more for your money, and the kids are oh-so-happy!

Comment: Excuse my excitement but I haven't seen this tape/episode anywhere in about 3 years. The Magic School Bus is an amazing, imformative, and non-yawning learning experience. This episode was one of my favorite and sparked my interest in the Solar System. While teachers made us do boring projects and try to ram facts about each plant into our heads, the Magic School Bus presents it in a way that it doesn't feel tedious and before you realize it, you know the order of all nine planets!

Comment: Book Review Magic School Bus Gets Lost in Space
By Joanna Cole

Would you get on a bus that was going into space? The kids in Ms. Frizzle's class did. Arnold's cousin Janet was visiting their class. She likes to brag about everything she knows about space. Ms. Frizzle's kids think she is annoying. The pages in this book have all of the planets in order. It also has interesting facts about the planets.

It even has how much you would weigh on the planets. In the middle of the story, Ms. Frizzle gets separated from the class. You find out if they ever get back together. Good luck!
