Summary: The Rock & Triple H Go The Distance While The Undertaker Returns, In One Hour.
Comment: First of all, I just want to state that I don't own this event but I did watch it the other day at a friend's house & decided to place this review. Anyways, Judgment Day 2000 was all about the second Iron Man Match between WWF Champion The Rock & Triple H with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. Many questions entered this one.. Can Rock actually wrestle for an hour? Will this be better than the first Iron Man? Will HBK call it down the line? Enough of that, here is the event.

Rikishi & Too Cool vs Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian. It's funny how Angle, Edge & Christian were acting goofy here & how their careers ended up in comparison to their opponents. Anyways after a funny five second pose, this was a fun opener that got the crowd riled up.

WWF European Champion Eddie Guerrero vs Dean Malenko vs Perry Saturn. On paper, this sounds like a showstealer or match of the year candidate. I am sorry to say this, but this was just average. Not a bad match at all, it had a great pace throughout & there were some good spots but this should have been so much better.

No Holds Barred: Shane McMahon vs The Big Show. This was just Show dominating Shane till Test & Albert came out that resulted in Shane winning in one of the most fake endings to a match. If you don't believe me, look at the cender block in Shane's hand for that proof.

Submission Match: Intercontinental Champion Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho. As most Benoit/Jericho matches are, this was a great wrestling match that focused on both men setting up their submission holds (Jericho's Walls of Jericho, Benoit's crossface). This one got intense at times like Jericho using the ropes to ably the Walls, the sequence involving the steel steps & the finish of Jericho being in the Crippler Crossface.

Tables Match: X-Pac & Road Dogg vs The Dudley Boyz. This was not on the same level as the Dudleyz encounter with the Hardyz in the first tables match. I will give this match credit because both teams did take some bumps but this was just putting over the storyline of Bubba Ray obsessed with driving Tori through a table.

Iron Man Match: WWF Champion The Rock vs Triple H w/Guest Referee Shawn Michaels. This match is worth getting the video alone. Rock & Triple H put on an excellent wrestling match that starts off slow with some basic wrestling holds. However, unlike the first Iron Man match, this one actually has falls which added more to the drama & suspense. The action gets crazy by midpoint & the intensity is at a fever pitch to the point where the crowd is into the match at every second (something that the Attitude Era was known for). HBK was not a factor in the match until the end when the McMahon-Helmsley Faction & DX interfere. The finish features the return of The Undertaker, who receives his loudest pop for a return, to even the odds. The match actually ends somewhat controversially (check the timer & horn) but it doesn't take away from a lost classic that should have been on Rock's or Triple H's DVD.

One more thing, even though most fans praise HBK/Hart's WrestleMania XII epic, this was the best Iron Man Match that I have seen as there was never a dull moment (but then again an hour is pretty long, LOL).

Overall, there are two matches that are worth going out of your way to see which are Rock/Triple H & Benoit/Jericho while the rest was average & watchable to only one bad match (Shane/Show). Anyways, I recommend this event.

Summary: Possibably the Best from 2000
Comment: Judgment Day 2000 hosted the second ever 60 minute ironman match in the modern era. I would have to say that the ironman match could possibably be the best match in 2000. The mid-card was very good as well which included a tables match and a submission match for the ic title. This is a good ppv to pick up. Judgment Day also hosted the big 10 month return of the Undertaker.

1. Six Man Tag
Kurt Angle and Edge & Christian vs. Too Cool & Rikishi
This match became a very exciting and fun opener. The crowd was very into this one from the beginning. Angle, Christian, & Edge gave a pretty entertaining 5 second pose before the match. A great opening match up, very exciting and fun. 4/5

2. European Title
Eddie Guerrero w/ Chyna vs. Dean Malenko vs. Perry Saturn
This was a solid triple threat match. The match went at a very fast and energetic pace. Malenko & Saturn would double team Eddie at some points in the match. Eddie used his lying, cheating, and stealing tactics along with chyna which helped him get the victory. Good match for the title. 4.25/5

3. No Holds Barred & Falls Count Anywhere
Big Show vs. Shane McMahon
This wasn't a bad match but it wasn't all that good either. Big Show as pictured controlled and dominated Shane in the earlier part of the match. About 4 or 5 guys would come out and beat on Big Show and give Shane the upper hand. Show would fight back at some points. Shane with help of a cinder block and a speaker box gets the victory over Show. Average match at best. 3.5/5

4. Submission Match for the IC Title
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit
These two put on another great match and they were perfect for this type of a match. Benoit really had the advantage for a good while on Jericho and worked on the arm and shoulder of him. Jericho tryed to work on the knee and leg of Benoit. One good point in the match was when Jericho applies the walls of jericho on Benoit on the apron of the ring which looked like it really torqued the back and neck of Benoit. The match was more on the nasty side than anything else. Had a good ending with Jericho choking out to the crossface. Great competitive match for the IC belt. 5/5

5. Tables Match
Dudley Boyz vs. Road Dogg & X-Pac w/ Tori
A good tables match but not as good as the one from Royal Rumble. The only real problem this match had was where the teams had to tag in and out during the match. There was a good tag match going on unitl the tables got introduced to the match. The table spots came at good times and the moves into the tables were good as well. Gerald Brisco would interfere in the match cause of the whole protect women's right he had going on at the time. Still a good tables match. 4.5/5

6. 60 Minute Ironman Match with Shawn Michaels as the Special Referee
WWE Champion The Rock vs. Triple H
This second ironman match was totally different than from the first one between HBK & Bret Hart. HBK called the match very good and right down the middle and much better than people expected him to. I also have to give credit to the Rock, he may not be the best wrestler but he wrestled a very good match right here.

The Rock & Triple h put on a great and solid wrestling clinic. They both used smart and selective moves at the appropriate times in the match. They both brawled for a while. The brawling on the outside was very good too which had a good table spot involving the Rock pedigreeing HHH on the announce table. Both used a few submissions moves including the sleeper hold and the figure four to wear down each other. They wrestled at a good pace throughout the match. The last two minutes really got you on the edge of seat. Once the Undertaker made his return he cleaned house, chokeslamming everybody in sight. This was a classic match up between the Rock and Triple H. Possibably the best match from 2000. 5/5*****

Judgment Day is one I recommend from the year 2000. Awesome event.

Summary: the ending of the rock and hhh was judgement day alright
Comment: The Rock vs HHH one hour match super ref hbk

I do not know which is the better match the rock vs hhhh at summerslam 98 or this one the starting point of the match is quite slow at least the first ten to twelve mintues of the match i understand that both wrestlers had to take their time jerry the king lawler sounded really intellignet calling this match he almost overshadow wwe announcer legend jim ross who is my favorite wwe announcer and jerry the king lawler would be my second favorite the king was explained strageries that the wrestlers had to use in winning this particular match his commentary is what made me a bit more interested in viewing the match but i have to give credit to both the rock and hhh the rock was doing moves that he normally did not do he gave hhh several big men moves on the floor i looked the slingshot to the ring post, the swining neckbacker to the floor, a backdrop to the floor, the suplex to the floor, and the superplex by the rock the rock worked his butt off and did good amount of bleeding where the rock gave hhh these powerful moves hhh sell all of them quite well the best move from hhh when he does his over the ring move and when he made the smartest move in wwf history when he hit the rock with the chair to dq himself then he pinned the rock because he knew that it would take the rock several minutes to recover from the chair shot that is why hhh is called the game because he does things like that and the rock is called the great one when he pedigree hhh on the table and wisely went in the ring and allowed hbk to count to ten until hhhh made it back to the ring he did not because he was still weak from the pedigree while the undertaker is a on and off favorite of mine i wish their would have stalled his return until the end of the match everything was going perfectly until dx interfenced followed by the undertaker new enterance since the match was tied 5 to 5 between the rock and hhh it should have stayed 5 to 5 went the clock alarm went off that is when the undertaker should have made his presence be known and then he could have caused all the mayhem he wanted as for the rock and hhh hbk should have called it a draw which would have allowed the rock to be champion for one more night and on the following night on raw there should have been a rematch between the rock and hhh under sudden death rules which is in my opinion a gimmick match, street fight, between the two that is when hhh could have been the champ the following night on raw for the slowness of the match toward the beginning and the ending even though it was interesting would have rather saw this happen a couple of seconds later for those two flaws I have to grade the match at ****1/4 to ****1/2 i would have given it the ****1/2 and higher but cannot do that due to those two flaws this match is in the same league as hbk vs bret hart and kurt angle vs brock lesnar
