Customer Rating: Summary: Lawrence of Arabia, a classic film score for the ages.... Comment: David Lean's epic film from 1962, "Lawrence of Arabia" is one of the big screen's finest achievements due in great part to the sweeping score writen by Maurice Jarre. Here is a match as close to perfect as I can imagine of spectacular visuals supported by stunning music, more than ably recorded for the Original Soundtrack release. For me, the listening experience was as enjoyable as viewing the film but after a few years, the soundtrack disappeared into vinyl memory. That is until I recently purchased the CD and to my suprise, Sir Adrian Boult's beautifully conducted score is as evocative and magical as ever. I hope you enjoy this music as much as I do. Customer Rating: Summary: This album does not have "Who's name do you ride" on it!!! Comment: It shows it playable on the media player, but isn't on the album itself, very disappointed, as that is my favorite track!!! Customer Rating: Summary: One of the greatest scores ever! Comment: Maurice Jarre's Academy Award Winning score to "Lawrence of Arabia" is pure delight. It contains great music from the film and sounds excellent. If you're looking for the soundtrack to the film, get the original and avoid the newer re-recordings by Tony Bremner which sound nothing like the Original. Customer Rating: Summary: Any Reviews For This Particular CD? Comment: I was looking for reviews for this particular CD and all I see are reviews for the DVD. Oh, well. I didn't rate this CD with a single star--Amazon forced me to put something there. Again with the "oh, well." Customer Rating: Summary: moon and stars Comment: This cd is a beautiful thing. The music captures both the english and arabic characterisitics of the movie. However not the character of Lawrence, which would be ,like lasooing the moon and stars and putting them in a little box..... the movie scratches only the surface of the being in question not giving him justice , making him too much a hero, (he was a human with failures) . However his being described by himself in 7 pillars as "a crystal, many facets) he cannot be caught up in any space or described adequately with music. But the music hints at the exquisiteness of his spirit.
