Summary: No Repressions No Inhibitions - Pure Fantasy!
Comment: This 1990 (Sire Records) Warner Reprise Video is a total eye opener for anyone who has a taste for scenes of love, intimacy or fantasy. The music video is from the album "The Immaculate Collection" and is directed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino and produced by Philippe Dupuis-Mendel. It is 5 minutes of black and white coverage and features 1 of Madonna's former boyfriends Tony Ward making the scenes more vivid, dramatic, and intense in their messages. Ward is depicted as Madonna's object of her affections since the entire video has both of them reuniting in between love scenes.

It's about freeing yourself to feel your hidden fantasies and going with it from an imaginary outlook--no matter what your sexual preference may be. The scenes were done in a hotel room with semi-clothed couples, voyeurism, cross-dressing, and more. Through the half-open doorways of other rooms you see poses of other couples and one girl dressed in leather--you also see other couples wearing S&M outfits. As the song progresses you see scenes of couples drawing mustaches on each other as well as scenes of a guy having someone below him. If you don't watch carefully there are parts you might miss because the camera goes by so fast. This I feel was done intentional to grab the viewers' thoughts and create more mystery. This was the time in Madonna's career where I felt she looked in her best--from my point of view. Her hair, physique, heavy eye make-up, and personality had a certain style that I found more interesting and appealing.

The video begins with Madonna carrying a suitcase down a hotel hallway, dressed in an overcoat, and holding her forehead as if she was stressed out as she sings "I want to kiss you in Paris, I want to hold your hand in Rome..." as if she craved for love when suddenly a gorgeous guy (Tony Ward) approaches her. Not knowing she is being watched (or so I think) she says (sings), "Wanting, needing..." and suddenly he grabs her and they kiss passionately. From there they go into a room and Madonna opens her coat revealing her garter belt and lace under garments. Tony Ward takes off his shirt and suspenders as they hold each other in a bed & a girl suddenly takes his place as he watches them (This is were the famous L* kiss takes place). Tony's acting skills look more real than anything if you see his gaze. Later he kisses Madonna again and they embrace. Another girl (dominatrix) also kisses Tony, as he is strapped on a chair but is later reunited with Madonna yet again. The song in the background says, "poor is the man whose pleasure depend on the permission of another." It ends with Tony reaching out to Madonna so she wouldn't leave but you then see her wearing the same over coat and running away in laughter, as if she were in a rush. Apparently, her headache had left and she felt great; Her love was justified, realized, and fulfilled.

*Warning: This video was not aired by MTV and is only recommended for mature audiences.

Summary: The Video That Started It All........
Comment: In our life, we try to find ways to make our days easier. In Madonna's life, she tries to find ways to shock people so that her career is easier!!! In November 1990, MTV decided to take a pass on Madonna's latest video for "Justify My Love". This decision sparked a national uproar on what could be shown on television. The reason why MTV refused to air the clip was because it featured nudity, gays, lesbians, transexuals, bisexuals, S&M, and........... well..... straight people of course!!!

While MTV was rejected by Madonna for their offer to air the video as a part of a half-hour special devoted to the controversy, ABC's "Nightline" aired the video instead. Uncut, uninhibited, and completely naughty!!! This sparked an even bigger uproar, causing all major channels to give up on Madonna and the video.

She finally knew what she had to do, Madonna released the video herself on a VHS casstette. It sold over 400,000 copies, and will sell even more if you buy it now on Amazon.com!!! This is the completely uncut, uninhibited, and completely naughty version of the video that MTV refused to air. This is the video that set Madonna's career on fire. This is the video that started it all.

Summary: Kudos To Madonna
Comment: Ok, in some ways I'm a conservative and have never really been accustomed to stuff like this, but "Justify My Love" was truly innovative. Madonna presented a sexual fantasy in the form of a music video and it is to this day, probably one of the most famous music videos in history. The video networks still refuse to play it uncut. The video itself plays around with sexual experimentation in an almost cheeky manner *my favorite scene is Madonna watching two men make out in front of her, a big huge grin on her face that she quickly covers up.* This video paved the way for Madonna's ultra-sexy "Erotica" period.

Yes, it may seem vulgar and yes, it is definitely NOT for children and Madonna has said that repeatedly, but "Justify My Love" was very much an expression of artistry. The cool thing is that Madonna left that phase of her career in the early 90's and has not dwelled on her whole sexual beast persona which was the smart thing to do. Janet Britney and Christina....take note. ;)

Summary: Sordid, Artsy, pushing the envelope...Madonna at her best!
Comment: This video provides the viewer with a hectic view down the gender-bender rabbit hole of the nineties in America. And speaking of holes, Madonna is fantastic in this performance...watching it leaves you smiling the way she smiles during the last seconds of the video while rushing down the hotel halls after her very naughty escapade. Decadent, sordid, experimental and FUN.
A must-have for the Madonna fan (Before the children's books, Pilates and the phoney British persona.)

Summary: Justify My Love Home Video (1990)
Comment: I was wrong about this video. When I first saw it two or three years ago, I didn't like it first, basically because I thought it looked like it was shot with a little t.v. camera. However, I just watched the video on madonna's website MADONNA.COM. The video is unbelievable, but very racy in sexuality and sexual relations.

The video starts off with Madonna walking down in the hallway of a very posh hotel in Paris. Her then boyfriend, famous photographer, Tony Ward, walks up to her and begins kissing Madonna. From that point on, the video shows a lot of graphic and sexual scenes between Madonna and Tony Ward, gay men, lesbians, and sado-masachists.

Although, very entertaining for us mature adult Madonna fans, this video, however, it is definitely not suitable for children between the ages of newborns-12 years. I recommend that every Madonna fan get this video if you don't have it already. It may be heavily sexual, but it goes perfectly with the concept of the song. This video is one in a million. Believe me.
