Comment: I first heard this cd in Jerome, AZ in their general store - liked it - bought it. Have rehearsed dance steps to it. Then it was injured and I had to find another! Luckily, you had it!

Summary: Flamenco gone cheesey
Comment: I guess their is a big "new age" market out there which goes for the plastic confection on offer here. Quality guitar playing yes, but all too-easy on the ear, four-square rhythm, anodyne synth decoration. Ultimately souless. Flamenco has a totured soul - duende - a firey passion. This is wet cardboard in comparisson. Flamenco, proper flamenco, is a taste that has to be acquired, a musical language that has to be learnt. This is flamenco-lite for people who simply cannot be bothered.

Comment: All tracks are wonderful and well composed; I think Behzad is one of those fantastic Flamenco guitar players. I agree that this brilliant album needs reengineering and could take the first place in the world of modern Flamenco guitar instrumental album.

Summary: Cool, soothing melodies ... but ...
Comment: All the songs in this CD are great, however, they were played a bit too mellow for my taste. The percussions need to pound stronger, the base needs to be reverberate more deeply. There is passion hidden in this performer's guitar which must be released with the appropriate sound engineering. I listen to this CD frequently and hear glimpses of genius ... I wanted to feel the rhythm more, but end up just bobbing my head gently with the beat. Oh well, I guess it's back to the Gipsy Kings and Jesse Cook ...

Summary: Great and Stirring Songs with a New Age Flavor
Comment: I purchased this CD after listening to many New Age CDs one afternoon. I was struck by how stirring and beautiful the songs were. What was also amazing to me was that I had never heard anything quite like this before, and this music made me want to dance around the room. As soon as I heard the first song (still my favorite), I had to have Gypsy Renaissance. I now have the CD in my alarm clock/CD/Radio and awaken to it every morning. I listen to it also in the evenings, and after two weeks have not tired of it. For anyone who enjoys listening to instrumental or new age music, this CD is a must have.
