Enhance productivity and reduce computing costs with Windows NT Workstation, the most powerful desktop operating system for business computing. Windows NT Workstation offers greater performance and combines the ease of use of Windows 95 with the reliability and security of Windows NT. Version 4.0 features many improvements over earlier versions. This version touts 20 percent higher performance and greater ease of use with the Windows 95 user interface. Simplified tools include the familiar Start button, Taskbar, Shortcuts, Network Neighborhood, and My Computer. This software also offers easier management and control with User Profiles and System Policies that give users network access control, and it supports users who roam between multiple workstations. The Setup Manager reduces the time and effort it will take to deploy Windows NT Workstation, and an improved version of the Windows NT Diagnostics Program greatly facilitates remote desktop troubleshooting. These tools all help you reduce the total cost of ownership of distributed PCs. This is an upgrade package that requires an earlier version of Microsoft Windows NT. The software will not upgrade Windows 3.1, 95, or 98.

Customer Rating: Summary: Still Great After Almost 8 Years On The Market! Comment: After being on the market for almost eight years, Windows NT 4.0 is still a great option for people looking for a stable and powerful operating system. The OS is especially great for older systems as it only requires a 486 w/ 16 mb of RAM to run. (though a Pentium+ is recommended and helpful). Don't choose NT if you're looking for USB or games, though, as the support for DirectX & USB is skimpy at best. (it isn't hopeless, though) So, if you're looking for a good, proven OS, NT is an option.
Customer Rating: Summary: If passing an A+ exam... Comment: This NOS is currently being used in todays business environment.. It is still an industry standard and is included in exams suchas the 2003 A+ objectives - why not buy a copy at its relatively low price!!?
Customer Rating: Summary: Still thinking about NT 4.0?? Go for 2000. Comment: Why would spend money on soon-to-be obsolete NT 4.0? Go for 2000 servers, it will save you money.
