Tired of seeing lights left on in un-occupied rooms? These countdown timer switches, sometimes called a "timed lag switch" can relieve that frustration. These stylish timer switches ensure that you do not leave lights and appliances on longer than necessary. Press the time button you need and the LED next to the selected button lights up. As the time counts down, the lit LED moves down until at 2 minutes before shut-off the LED flashes to indicate impending shut-off. Summary: Almost perfect
Comment: This switch has worked great, I think we've had it for 4-5 months without problem. I recently bought a second one.
Set up was very easy, it's been installed for a bathroom fan, 2 way circuit.
I only wish they had a button so that the fan could stay on indefinitely (i.e. plain old "ON") in addition to 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes.

Comment: Just installed two Leviton Decora Preset Timers in our master bathroom. So far they are working great. They look better than a dial timer.
Installation does require a neutral (4 wires: Neutral, Load, Line, and Ground). The box is bigger than normal switches but I had no problem installing it. Very pleased with the purchase.
My only complaint, which another reviewer mentioned, is that there is a metal plant around the switch that is designed to fit under the plastic cover. If you are installing it into a multiple switch gangbox, the neighboring switch will overlap it. If you are installing it in a single switch gangbox this will not be an issue. I found this to be annoying when trying to make the switches flush with the cover. I actually got a hacksaw and cut off the excess metal and it worked fine. This is a small criticism.
Overall I am very happy with the purchase and have ordered 3 more for the other bathrooms in our home.

Summary: Failed after 2 months
Comment: Like another reviewer has reported, this switch worked fine for a while (and it's convenient) but suddenly stopped sending power to the blue load wire. The LED and timer functions were still working but no power was being sent to the load. This happened after just 2 months of moderate use. It was controlling a small bathroom exhaust fan, certainly a legitimate application.
Not sure what to do now. I guess I'm supposed to contact the manufacturer for a warranty replacement -- Amazon isn't very helpful in this respect -- I couldn't find anything about returning a defective device after 30 days.

Summary: works but takes up a lot of space
Comment: I bought this product for the exhaust fans in my bathrooms. One crappy thing about this switch is in a double gang box the thermal plate on the switch intersects a regular switch and the double gang plate won't fit over the two switches. In order to get the plate to fit you have to overlap the timer and the regular switch. In a single gang box I had to trim the wires in the box way back to make room for the ridiculous depth this timer takes up. Overall, I got every one of the switches to work, the electronics work just fine, the real problem is with getting them to fit.

Summary: Leviton Timer switch review
Comment: Having now fitted this timer switch, it works fine. I use it for a bathroom extractor fan
To be sure of being able to have room to fit the timer and all the wires I bought an extra deep receptacle box. It was pretty obvious that a regular receptacle box would have been too shallow. The timer has four wires and four wire nuts are included in the package. It can be a bit tricky getting the wire nuts to grip as the timer wires are multi-strand and I was using standard solid single wire household cable for the feed and supply to the fan. In the end I couldn't get the a wire nut to secure the ground wire connection so I soldered them and wrapped them in electrician's tape.
The timer offers times of 5, 10,15 and 30 minutes. There's an button to turn it off too; good if you want to just stop the fan there and then or select a different time delay.
In conclusion, I recommend this switch.
