Customer Rating: Summary: Timesless Classic British Comedy Comment: Fawlty Towers is definitely in the top 5 British comedies ever made. It's based loosely on a real hotel manager in a hotel that John Cleese and the rest of the Monty Python team stayed at in the very real town of Torquay in South East England. It's extremely funny and you'll never tire of it. Classic scenes such as "The Germans", "Waldorf salad" and "Mr Fawlty, I know nothing" will have you howling out loud even if it is over 30 years old. With all 12 episodes, this DVD is worth every cent.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fawlty Towers, The Complete Series Comment: Beautifully packaged in perfect order and arrived in promised time. This will give me hours of laughs and I will not hesitate to shop with Amazon again. Thank you
Customer Rating: Summary: Great DVD Comment: Bought this for my boyfriend who loves Fawlty Towers. It is the complete series and was great to watch. My boyfriend enjoyed it and so did I.
Customer Rating: Summary: just great service Comment: I was very pleased with the whole process. I received the product ordered
very quickly and it met all my expectations. I definitely would use this
process again.
Customer Rating: Summary: The worst hotelier you can't stop watching Comment: Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) is far from a perfect man. In fact he's a terrible terrible person. But you end up overlooking that fact for the simple reason that he makes you laugh. Most of the scrapes he gets himself into would be easily taken care of if he could simply tell the truth. But that concept is foreign to him.
This series ran the perfect amount of time, ending while it was still hilarious. Each episode is a unique story, never retreading old ground. If you are a fan of the British use of both irony and farce, this is a virtual treasure trove of humor.
