Comment: Really easy to use product. Comes with direct and detailed instructions and an informative, well written, pamphlet. The most time consuming task was sterilizing the equipment and the most difficult is waiting for the fermentation to finish. The name Mr Beer seems kind of shallow and cheap, but you'll be surprised at how good the beer is and because of the quality and ease of making the product, you really want to try out or experiment with their other varieties!

Comment: I recently purchased this kit in july. After reading as much as I could on the Mr Beer kit for about two weeks I had seen two views. One that the beer is great, and the other that it comes out bad or the Mr Beer kits dont have good brews. Well Im vouching for myself as I have just drank two of some of the best beers I have ever had. The kit Mr Brew provides you with in this is a pale ale, its smooth and light in taste and should appeal to about 90% of beer drinkers as a good tasting beer.
The BIGGEST MISTAKE people make with this is that they are not sanitary. This is the only way they do not end up with great tasting beer. So I highly recommend this kit and say that when you do decide to do this, OVER sanitize everything rather than not enough. Take your time to read the instructions in advance, and have everything prepared and be organized. I let my mix sit in the keg for 10 days at 75-77 degrees. Then I prepared the bottles and added EXACTLY the right amount of table sugar to each bottle and then poured the fermented beer in the bottles and capped them. I let those sit in the same dark room for two weeks(14 days) again at 75-77 degrees. THEN I put the entire box into the fridge for a third week to give it a nice cold lager. The longer you wait with the carbonating beer the better it will taste. SO get the kit, TAKE YOUR TIME AND SANITIZE PROPERLY AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Comment: I bought this item for my husband as an early birthday gift. He really enjoyed making the beer and was impressed with the results. Very smooth beer with no aftertaste. I would recommed this to anyone who enjoys a fun project and an occasional beer on those hot days.

Comment: ...and it produces decent results for the casual home brewer who doesn't want to invest a lot of money and time making 5 gallon batches.
It's well worth the few extra dollars to buy the premium or deluxe mixes and...in general...bypass those recipes that use Booster. Shop smart @ mrbeer.com and save on shipping. You can also get mail-order refills from 'Plow and Hearth' in Madison, VA (AAA members get a 10% discount, which all but pays for the shipping).
It takes less than an hour to sanitize the equipment (keg and brew pot) and mix the ingredients. Once fermentation is complete...it takes less than an hour to sanitize...prime...and fill your bottles.
Fermentation takes a week or two for most batches. Once it's bottled...let it sit for two to three weeks...then put some in the refrigerator for a week.
It pays to buy some extra bottles so you can enjoy a few different varieties and have a continuous stock on hand.
Purists love to knock and mock Mr. Beer...but they should take their own advice; relax and have a homebrew.

Summary: Great Gift Idea
Comment: I bought this for my boyfriend as a father's day gift, and he LOVED it. The only problem I see with it, it doesn't have bottles in this package. Bottles are necessary for the last step in fermentation. But you don't actually need to buy the bottles, you could always save some pop bottles instead. I ended up ordering the glass bottles from the MR Beer website.
I would also say that the easy steps are pretty easy, but there are a lot of things to do in those steps...anyways. Its a great product and a fun one too. A great gift for any beer lover.
