MODEL- DOL-P-GPIE VENDOR- NINTENDO FEATURES- Pikmin Straight from the creative mind of Nintendos own Shigeru Miyamoto (the creator of Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong and more), Pikmin is an inventive new kind of game perfectly suited to show off Nintendo GameCubes awesome potential. Referred to as an "inventive life simulation," Pikmin is an action- strategy game featuring incredibly life-like environments inspired by Mr. Miyamotos own garden in Kyoto, Japan. Players control a spaceman named Captain Olimar who has crash-landed on an unusual planet. The goal of the game is to help Olimar collect his vessels lost parts, which have been scattered all over the planet. Luckily for Captain Olimar, the planet is inhabited by strange little creatures called Pikmin. Pikmin are plant-like life forms that come in three different colors: red, yellow and blue. Each type of Pikmin has unique strengths which Olimar must use to his advantage. Red Pikmin can withstand fire, blue Pikmin can survive in water, while yellow Pikmin can fly higher and destroy obstacles by using bomb-rocks. Players can control the Pikmin sprouts individually, in groups, or in one large Pikmin posse of 100 creatures. * Unlike most strategy games, the basic controls in Pikmin are very simple. Mr. Miyamoto has made excellent use of the new Nintendo GameCube Controller. The main Control Stick controls Captain Olimar, while the C- Stick controls the swarming mass of Pikmin. While youre moving Olimar in one direction, youre free to move the Pikmin in any direction youd

Summary: You need some practice!
Comment: What's weird about Nintendo is that they made a game with a time limit. Pikmin is really fun but with a time limit. The graphics make the game beautiful, otherwise the gameplay is excellent. Sure it can get repetive, but other than that it's really fun! I would strangely recomend practice for people who think this game is hard. So I would suggest to rent this game or buy the sequel for practice.

The Story
A Capt. by the name of Olimar, just came back from the worst intersolar vacation. While he was drinking tea to calm his nerves he was struck by a meteor. He crashed landed on a strange backwater planet, thus meeting the Pikmin.

The Pikmin
What would be Pikmin without Pikmin?! Nintendo sure did make a cute little alien thing. Though it is sad to hear the cry when the die, and see the coloured ghosts fly upwards, I still enjoy the little things.

The Enemies
Enemies are the backup in the game, some are hard others are easy. Others are stupid (going in water and killing themselves). Pikmin hate the enemies, but Capt. Olimar is doing them a favor to kill the beasties and breed Pikmin!!

Overall
Overall the game is excellent, even though the time limit may be the worst asset of the game, it's pretty good once you collect tons of the ship parts.

Summary: I was "Pik"ed!
Comment: For this item, I'm a little disappointed. I ordered the Pikmin 2 game, but was sent the Pikmin game. When I went back to the Amazon site, the page was gone. Since we were on vacation at the time, didn't even notice that it was confirmed incorrectly. Because Amazon is sometimes "Amazonian" to approach, trying to rectify it was useless. As for the game, my children play it and think it's pretty good, though they really wanted the Pikmin 2 game. Oh well!

Summary: Awesome Game
Comment: Pikmin is a game with great graphics and gameplay. The story is that a man named Olimar crashlands on a planet with creatures called Pikmin. Olimar can call them to him, throw them at enemies, make them wait for him, destroy walls, build bridges, and carry dead enemies and pellets to the ship. The only problem is that the game is too short, because he only has 30 days to collect the parts of his ship. Besides that, Its a great Gamecube game.

Summary: Overall Great
Comment: I have been playing this game for years. It is a great game and I am glad I bought it. There are great graphics and a very creative form of battle. You play as a 2cm tall alien named Olimar from planet Hocotate and you crash on a distant plaet (earth). The goal is to collect your 30 ship parts which have been scattered all over earth. All seems hopeless when suddenly you find a small spacecraft. It resembles an onion so that is what Olimar names them. Suddenly, the onion springs into the air and sprouts "legs." Then, a red seed pops out. This is a Pikmin seed. You then have to bring food back to the onion using the Pikmin. As you bring food to the onion, more seeds pop out. Eventually, you find your ship's engine. This allows you to go to the next area: the Forest of Hope. There' you find a yellow onion. Out pops a yellow Pikmin seed. These Pikmin can carry small bombs to break down walls or defeat enemies. After finding a number of ship parts, you can go to a cavern in the forest called the Forest Navel. You find a blue onion submerged in a small pond there. When you approach it, it jumps up and spits out a blue Pikmin seed. These blue pikmin can actually breath underwater! After that, you have to find the rest of your ship parts to go to the Distant Spring. This area has nothing to offer but strong enemies and ship parts. There are about 10 parts here! After finding them all, you have to go to the final level: the Final Trial. Here, you have to fight a huge enemy called the Emporer Bulbax. After killing it, it spits out a piggy bank. after carrying this back to your ship, you are ready to take off. Olimar bids the Pikmin goodbye and flys off in his ship back to Hocotate. It sounds easy but there is a catch, you have to beat the game in 30 in-game days. The days last about 15 minutes so you should be able to get at least one part a day. If there is anything I learned from this game, it's how to lead an army into war against giant, mutant beetles.
