Summary: Sent Back!
Comment: Yikes! This is the first thing I have ever sent back to Amazon. The rollers get so hot you can't touch them anywhere. The clips to hold them in place are really weak. I have medium-thick hair. Perhaps people with thinner hair would have less trouble. The plastic top broke off the second time I tried to use them. This is the second Conair hair appliance I have owned. They don't impress me much. I can't imagine I would ever buy a Conair product again.

Summary: Great for that extra volume!!
Comment: I love these curlers. My set is about 7 yrs old! The top is broken off and I've lost 2 pins, but I just use a couple jumbo sized hair clips and it stays in. It does take a little practice, but I'm done rolling in 5 minutes.
I have fine, longer (4-5" pass shoulders)hair. When I know I'm going to use the rollers I add some moose/gel before blow-drying. I section off my hair and spray aerosol hairspray on it. My hair clings to the roller and stays in better, plus it gives great volume. I also give a good spray all over after I'm done. I usually put on make-up while the curlers are in. I take them out and have "Super Model" hair, according to my hubby! I let the curls cool and relax then run my fingers through and I'm done.
Another tip: Try rolling them in different directions....as in roll one under and the other up.

Summary: Bulky for travel but great nonetheless!
Comment: The jumbo rollers are a great size for adding soft curls and volume. The set heats very quickly so it's also easy to reheat the curlers, if 5 rollers aren't enough. The ends don't get abnormally hot (as cited for other sets). The unit also cools very quickly, which is great for last minute packing. The only two points that kept this from being a 5-star rating are: 1. the size is rather bulky. It would have been more convenient if the unit was smaller and with the 5 rollers in a row. To keep the lid from flying open in my suitcase, I secure the unit with a large rubber band and then put it in a large ziplock bag. (The bag protects my clothes in case the lid shatters.) 2. The unit has a well for wire clips but doesn't include any. Instead, the unit comes with large plastic claw-style clips that don't fit inside the unit and take up a fair amount of room. If you prefer wire clips, be sure to save the paperwork in the box. The paperwork includes an order form for the wire clips, which are very difficult to find online or in stores. However, after ordering, I received a letter that they are currently out of stock and to call in another month for a status. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase; and it's much easier than traveling with my full set of 12 jumbo rollers.

Summary: MINE ARE SO OLD, I'VE LOST TRACK
Comment: I have long fine hair, pretty much the long "Rachel" (Jennifer Aniston style when she was on friends). I use these as my sole set of rollers and I travel a lot so I stick them in the bottom shelf of my 26" suitcase and I have no problem. They are at least 6 to 7 years old and they still work great. The lid did crack a long time ago then eventually broke off completely. Guess what, they still work fine! I am looking to buy another set just for home so I can leave the old set in my luggage always. I have owned dozens of hairsetters before this one and this is my very favorite.
I think they are ideal for someone with longer hair because you NEED the jumbo size. I just put 3 to 4 rollers on the top of my head and that is all I need.

Summary: One suitcase means smaller rollers!
Comment: Now that we have to cram into one suitcase, i got these strictly for travel. I haven't yet had the other problems people say. I just love the size of the rollers. Thanks to the reviewer who said converter- I assume in europe that a converter would have to be used on everything and I will be sure to bring one.I have been stuffing the big set into my suitcase, but this one will fit much better and hopefully not looks so suspicious on an xray scanner.
