Editorial Reviews:

Relax and energize hardworking feet with the Conair deluxe massaging foot spa. Designed for wet or dry use, the spa features built-in foot-massaging tools and vibration, bubbles, and water-jet settings. You can use any setting by itself or in combination with the other two for a total of seven options. Functions are controlled with a simple foot-operable touch-pad and marked with indicator lights. A heating feature is also included to maintain the temperature of warm water. In addition to the water functions, the unit's foot beds are lined with low bumps to massage the entire sole of the foot. Two removable deep-kneading rollers in the base are perfect for massaging insteps and heels, while a contoured tool on the divider provides a restorative massage to arches. A comfortable and sturdy design, the spa is easy to carry and maneuver and comes with convenient power cord hooks. A transparent shield minimizes splashing. --Emily Bedard

Summary: RELAXING AND REVIVING MASSAGER
Comment: Purchased the foot spa massager for husband's anniversary present. He is a distance runner and loves it. Has used it 5 times since purchasing and it makes his feet feel great.

Summary: Not as impressive in-person
Comment: This review covers the FB11NR: same unit with slightly different control pushbuttons and with an IR remote.

Somehow, i had deluded myself into thinking that the spinning massagers under each foot were powered. Nope... basically just built-in plastic versions of those usually wooden massaging rollers that one rolls one's foot upon. That's fine, yet when i want to relax, i'm not thinking about moving my feet. Fortunately, those are removable, and removal is exactly what happened.

The killer was that the center massage wheel, which IS supposed to be powered and IS supposed to spin, was D.O.A. This unit went back to the store, and we bought an FB21 instead. Amazon has no listing for that model, so i can't give a full review on it. It was good enough to keep.

Both the FB11NR and the FB21 share some traits. Neither one really keeps water anywhere near its original temperature. Sound levels vary from fairly quiet to quite loud, depending upon the operating mode chosen (i did dB measurements on the FB21, but since Amazon doesn't list that one, you don't get to see them). The FB21 seems to have slightly better build quality, and everything worked out of the box, so we kept that one.

Summary: Uh, ok...
Comment: These are just not that great. This particular version I'd read multiple complaints about so my husband bought me the supposedly much better one with loofah's to rub your feet on and 5 massage heads. The water does NOT stay warm..the heater doesn't really work. The jets felt okay, the vibration attachments on the bottom of each side tickled and the loofah works..well..like a loofah..but only on the bottom of your feet since they are flat and planted in the plastic. Unfortunately for you, you won't get any of the ticklers and loofah because you are buying this one. That was the only part I liked!

They are messy, cool off way too fast, not fun to clean..especially if you leave dirty water in there for over an hour.. and I was shorted one of the massage heads. I'm not thrilled, think Conair needs to give up or work miracles on future versions and have only used it once since receiving it for Christmas. I'll be nice and rate it a 3...and that's for the BETTER one which I can never seem to find on Amazon to rate!

Summary: Not bad
Comment: Compared to just sticking you feet into a warm basin, this is slightly better. I agree with some of the other reviews about the rollers hurt your feet, so I removed them. Someone else said it was hard to put their feet in because of the guard on the top, that too I removed. It is on the noisy side, nor does it keep the water temperature for to long. But I had another brand prior to this one, and this one to me is better.

Summary: My feet are happy! My wallet is happy!
Comment: I purchased what I believe to be an older model, the FB11 (it has a dial @ the top with the same vibrating/heat/bubble features that the "toe control" buttons offer on the FB11N) and I'm very pleased. I purchased it, in spite of the not-so-great reviews that I read here on Amazon! I got a good deal, and as a NEWBIE to home foot spas, or even salon pedicure treatments in general (I've had TWO in my 36 years) I just wanted to "get my feet wet," so to speak and was able to do so @ a good price.

I used some of the suggestions I read here and on reviews of other spas, such as using warmer than you normally would water, and it still didn't keep it piping hot... but it did stay warm enough for me to get a nice 15 minute soak. The bubble feature was QUITE bubbly... and splashy... but that can be remedied by doing a test run and filling up to the max water line WITH your feet inside the spa... not going to the max fill line, sticking your feet in and then wondering why you are splashing everywhere! Your feet do displace the water somewhat... so keep that in mind.

I'm extremely pleased with the purchase. I'm not accustomed to professional pedicure bubbling machine-things @ salons, so I'm not "spoiled" in that regard... and this is so convenient... I'm a mom with 2 kids under 4 whose hubby is away on business A LOT and need some pampering. I can't justify 45 minutes in a salon... would have to hire a sitter... and its just too much trouble AND too much money. I need 15 minutes to myself after the kids are in bed... It did wonders for my outlook!
