Editorial Reviews:

Uncut looks at both classic artists that have stood the test of time and new musicians and underground trends worth notice. Published in Great Britain, it features consistently strong writing, hundreds of music and movie reviews, interviews, news, and a complimentary compilation CD with each issue.

Summary: Uncut Magazine is the Best Entertainment Magazine Bar None!
Comment: This British music/movie/entertainment magazine is the best there is. The articles are informative and funny, with a depth of knowledge that you rarely see in this type of magazine. From current acts and movies to stuff from the past, Uncut has it all, presented in an erudite manner by people who know how to write! I highly recommend it if you are a media fanatic like me!

Summary: MOJO's Fraternal Twin
Comment: I have subscribed to UNCUT for several years now as well as to rival English music mag MOJO. Until this year, both magazines seemed to pretty much keep an eye on what the other did. If one mag featured Paul Weller, the Who, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles (all frequently covered bands), reggae or the Motown Sound one month, then sure enough its rival would feature that band or that style the same or the following month. Even the free CDs would have similar themes.
But starting in 2006, UNCUT took a new track with its free CD that veered away from what MOJO was doing and that made its free CD all the more anticipated. In addition to revamping its freebie compilation strategy, UNCUT has done away with the jewel box that used to house its free CDs and now sends it in a less bulky cardboard CD sleeve. I like that move. The old jewel box often was damaged in transit through the mails but with the new format it barely bulges.
Though there is a lot of sameness in journalistic style and the musical topics covered, I read both magazines for the music and DVD reviews. These reviews help me decide whether there is a good possibility of me liking something I hadn't yet heard. They have also keep one up-to-date on reissues of films and older albums I like. Reading both magazines reviews gives you two opinions to consider. Of course you have to watch the writer. If he/she has given the new Justin Timberlake four stars, you will take whatever they say about Van Morrison or the Arctic Monkeys with a huge grain of salt.
I look forward to the arrival of UNCUT in my mail box every month. It covers a lot of different bands and styles, both vintage and modern and keeps music fans abreast of all developments within a wide but still limited range of genres. If I had to fault the magazine for anything it is that like its fraternal twin MOJO, it completely ignores the huge and burgeoning world of progressive rock and prog metal. Even so, I highly recommend UNCUT to anyone who wants to maintain a solid awareness of the music scene.
And by the way, the mag shipped from the UK DOES come with a CD and to date not one has been pilfered in transit.

Summary: Uncut is the best music mag alive...
Comment: ...hands down. And with reference to another reviewer complaining about the subscription price a year or two ago, he'd be pleased to know that you can order an annual subscription of Uncut online at their website for $75.18 USC. And you can't beat that with any music mag out there today for the price and the package.
Rave on!
Dave

Summary: Is Disc Included with UK & usa issues?
Comment: I heard that the UK subscription issues delivered in the US did not contain the CD. I have found some of these Uncut CD's to be the best compilations around & they find themselves on my car stereo a lot. Do all issues in the mail come with the CD ( theft not included)?

Summary: Great entertainment magazine
Comment: May be pricy, but it's hard to beat. Can order significantly cheaper direct through www.uncutsubs.co.uk.
