Summary: Shaking so hard
Comment: I could hardly get the magazine to the checkout counter. I'd driven into the 'big city' to go to a magazine/book store that had 'those' kind of magazines. I'd heard of Blueboy. But this other one, Torso, had the most amazing guy on the cover.
I remember I'd picked up a ordinary newspaper to put my intented purchase in. (This is the early '80's.) And I was so scared, I nearly dropped the whole kit and kaboodle on the floor. The guy behind the counter didn't laugh, or anything. He didn't even ask for ID (even though I looked all of 14 back then). He just told me to be careful, that a lot of guys weren't too good. At that moment I realized he was gay.
I managed a studdering 'thank you' before I got out the door. I was still shaking as I unwrapped the magazine. (This was my first bit of male flesh that wasn't Playgirl flacidness. It even came complete with a big finish.)
If you'd asked me, I'd have told you the earth fell out of orbit that day. That was over 20 years ago. And I haven't purchased this magazine in over 10, but it was a real mind-spinning treat for this guy, back in the day.
I understand it got more involved with SMBD at one point. I don't know if it still is. But in any case, it is a very (now) happy memory for me. It was looking at those pages that confirmed what I'd always supected. The rest has been a wild, and wonderful ride.
**** He was right (the guy at the newstand) there were some guys who weren't soo nice. But you gotta be a nice guy to find one...
