Summary: No Manuals - Completely Useless
Comment: Before I bought this game, I thought, "I might have bought this game years ago," but I looked though my old games and didn't find it. Therefore, based on the favorable reviews here, I bought it from the "NothingbutSoftware" company.
I found it came with no manuals. I hate that. It has happened to me before a number of times. I tried to install the game but found it was already on my computer - both "Shadows of Amn" and "Throne of Bhaal." I thought, "Well, it must have a great tutorial and in-game help or even an in-game manual." It has no tutorial, no in-game help, and no in-game manual. I tried to play anyway and created a character and gathered a party and my party of four was wiped out by a bat as I tried to figure out how to cast a spell.
So I checked the internet. I read that you should read the manual "cover to cover" before playing the game. So I checked the internet for manuals. I found only one and downloaded it, reluctantly, becuase it had ".rar" or something for file type which I had never heard of. I tried to open it but windows said it can't open it, but it could search for the file type and how to open it. I told it to and it said that I could buy a program to open it and told me about it. I'm not going to do that.
I thought that I rarely, if ever, throw games away. I won't throw this one away so that I don't buy it for a third time.
Why companies like NothingbutSoftware carry this trash is beyond me, but Amazon.com certainly shouldn't advertise it.

Summary: Throne of baal doesnt work
Comment: OK I love Baldurs gate since I was young. Im really pissed that I cant play Throne of Baal. If you got Vista, Shadows of Amn will work, but everytime I put the THrone of baal in the damn thing intalls it then when you try to play it just sits on the Screen that says to put the disk in....while the disk is in to. I wont reads it ro somthing. Ive bought this one and another one from somewhere else and they both did the same thing.

Summary: Awesome Game
Comment: Just have to give my opinion as well. I've been playing Baldur's Gate games since they first came out, and this is easily one of my favorite games of all time.
There is a huge amount of freedom, plenty of character classes and races to go with, and tons of quests. This will keep you busy for quite some time; I've personally played through it 6 times or more, and every time I do I find something new to love about it.
One criticism I have is that the expansion is much lower quality than the original game and may turn some players off. Its still fun, no doubt, but its obvious that not the same level of effort went into it.

Summary: Funnest game ever
Comment: I think this is one of the funnest games I have ever played. I am addicted to it. I have already solved it, but I am going back through it again non stop to try to find things I missed and different routes the game offers.
