Customer Rating: Summary: MGS the twin snakes review Comment: the game was good. to be honost though, the original MGS for the ps1 is still better. this game isn't as dramatic as the original and there are a couple of scenes that will make u say "was that really necassary?" but there are a few fetures in this game that make this version of the first MGS better, u can find a trankalizer gun just like in MGS2, it has FP view mode where u can shoot from and a few other things that makes this a more enhanced expiereince then the original MGS. 5 stars!
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth buying and playing Comment: This game is good, but first off this is basically the exact same game as the psx version. I thought buying it, it wasn't but I had sold the PSX version of it so it worked out good. The two main differences between the games is graphics and the ability to go into first person view. Many people will complain about this game vs the original for two or more reasons. The main being the game was set pretty simple and short, then you give players the ability to go into first person that just makes it easier. Another big complaint is the controls I like the gamecube controls myself so no problem. I would kind of assume if you own a WII or gamecube you don't mind that. So basically the biggest complaint is the ability to go first person only made it easier. I agree but the graphics and all else make up for to the casual gamer. Lastly if you are person who doesn't like Playstation or only has Nintendo hardware you'd probably like this innterptation of it better anyway. Over all a classic made even better and funnier.
Customer Rating: Summary: A great remake Comment: Honestly I've had the Twin Snakes for over 2 years and beaten it a couple times. I also have and beaten the original one on PSX atleast 5 times. With that said this version is very similar to the original game. The main differences that come to mind are that you can use 1st person view when shooting any gun. That alone makes the game much easier than the original. Another thing is that you have a silent tranquilizer gun like in MGS2. That can be pretty useful at times also. Last the graphics are very improved for the most part. They're just as good if not better than MGS2 or Snake Eater.
The only things that bother me though is that the cutscenes are a bit different. Also some of the voices are a bit off on a some of the characters. The controls take some getting used to, but they are still good. But with that said the game is still very solid. The game is still very action packed like the original Playstation version.
So in short, this game is pretty much like playing Metal Gear Solid with the graphics and controls of Metal Gear Solid 2. Unless you're very anal about little meaningless details that you fell in love with concerning the original game, I highly recommend it if you have a Gamecube or Wii.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love the original masterpiece - I just wish I could say the same thing about Twin Snakes. Comment: Let's face it - Twin Snakes blows. Anyone who says it's good is totally lying to themselves or has not played the original MGS1 for PS1.
A majority of the cut-scenes were unnecessary and really stupid. Snake does some super-human moves that just ridiculous - this isn't The Matrix or some Steven Seagal movie.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good but. Comment: This is a remake and is a mixed bag compared to the masterpiece of the PSX one, sure it looks better and plays a bit better its still clunky in controls the new dialog is..well...so so but what I hate the most is the music....they took a wonderful score and raped and battered it to match modern crap cinma.
Don't get me wrong its a solid game and the gameplay is a improvement but the first game had more charm..
