Customer Rating: Summary: Junk.....not worth it Comment: I picked mine up from Home Depot and like the other reviewer said....it only gives a neutral pH of 7.
For fun, I put a good amound of Baking Soda (akaline) into a glass of tap water...still reads 7.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not a soil meter Comment: This meter work when measuring pH solutions but not soil. Perhaps they need to create a standard procedure to make a soil soultion.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great! Comment: I do not have the ability to calibrate the instrument. Given that, it is as described and very easy to use.
Customer Rating: Summary: ok Comment: I was hoping that with this product I could just stick it in the soil and it would read the pH. Well it came in the mail and I read the directions and there were all sorts of steps and requirements having to do with the soil BEFORE you could use it. I did not realize it would be more time consuming. That could just be my fault. I used it anyway on my house plants without following all the steps and I think it worked. No real indicator on it if it is reading it or not. I will try again someother time.
Customer Rating: Summary: Always a 7 Comment: I used this pH tester on my garden soil and always got a result of 7. Since I work in a laboratory I borrowed a few drops of pH standards (pH 4 and pH 7) and tested with this pH Meter. Both came up as 7. Hmmm! Don't waste your money!
