It's not the greatest obviously or it would cost more, but the still pictures come out great and video mode isn't that bad. I've upload many videos to the internet using this camera and they turned out perfect.
I've never had any trouble with the battery compartment like others had said. The only two down sides is: you need a fair amount of light and there's no tripod mount, but it's flat, so you can just sit it on top of something like I do. The battery life if pretty good also...a definate keeper!!!
