Summary: Simple to use
Comment: I have used this product in two buildings in the past and was very satisfied, in fact I have purchased three more. Instructions make the product easy to install and programming is simple and straight foreword. The ability to temporarily override the programed temperature at the touch of a button and have it automatically return to normal programming is a plus. I find this feature very useful in zones which are heated up occasionally used for sort times, and then you forget to turn down the temperature when vacating the area. Programing assumes that everyone is gone from home Monday through Friday because Saturday and Sunday require there own program settings, this is curious given there are four day work weeks and often days off fall mid week.

Summary: Return was a nightmare
Comment: this product didn't work, when we called Lux to return the item we NEVER got any of our calls returned. After 5 attempts we finally got someone to give us a return number and we shipped it back. Then we waited and waited for the credit to hit our account and it never did. We disputed the item through our bank and they did a temp. credit for 60 days and attempted to contact Lux to resolve this. Lux never even contacted our bank to resolve the credit dispute. I would NEVER purchase something from this company!

Summary: So Easy and Cool!
Comment: I just bought this after reading everyone's reviews. It shipped really fast and installed so easy. I never installed one of these before, but they had step by step instructions included. I just unscrewed my old manual thermostat and labeled the wires, then put this one on the wall and connected the wires to it.
For anyone who doesn't have one of these automatic thermostats you should really get one. I had an old Honeywell one and thought I'd need to do more to switch, but really you don't. When I turned the power back on for the HVAC, the AC turned on right away and has been working fine. Its so much nicer in the house because the tempature is more accurately controlled. I'm sure it will save on my electic/gas bill too!
Anyway I suggest getting this! Don't waste energy and money with the old fashion ones!

Summary: It never worked
Comment: I was finally able to get a professional airconditioning guy over to install the Lux TX1500 programmable thermostat this morning. Much to my dismay and disappointment, the thermostat did not work. We tried three different sets of batteries, thinking that might be the problem. He read the instructions through, thinking there might be something he might have missed. The light came on, but no display when he tried to program it. The 30 days was up for return to Amazon, and the mfg. warranty doesn't do me any good because since the old thermostat (that was 16 years old) was off, and inefficient, I just bought a new standard thermostat and had it installed. I didn't have time to fool around with trying to return this one, get a new one from the company and try to schedule the busy airconditioning people in hot Yuma again. Oh well, lesson learned.
