Summary: The guinea pig OS that ms abandoned, it was too good......
Comment: I've been running xp 64 bit on most of my computers for several years. In terms of software compatibility and general stability and immunity to many of the nastier adwares and viruses I personally think this is a top notch OS. The big problem with this OS is that microsoft has pretty much abandoned it, this OS was the test bed/guinea pig for VISTA 64 bit, which is now out in the wild. AMD processors can natively handle either 64 bit or 32 bit code while Intel 64 bit cpus require a translation layer to handle 32 bit code...this OS will run both 32 bit and 64 bit code. I do a lot of cd/dvd burning and I play a lot of games, I have no problems with recent software under this OS and Roxio 10 that is written to take advantage of a 64 bit OS runs a lot faster than on a 32 bit os, at least when burning discs. Since vista 64 is finally out we are finally seeing more and more hardware drivers than were unavailable in the past...the biggest problem area for hardware with this OS has been with TV tuner cards, even today there are still only a handful of cards that offer xp 64 drivers and you may also have issues with devices such as cell phones if they don't use activesync to communicate with your desktop. Nvidia started providing reference drivers for their video cards the day this came out and has continued support so nvidia based video cards are no problem and I believe since AMD purchased ATI there is now good availability of drivers for ATI cards as well. I tend to leave my system running for weeks straight, I rarely need to reboot with this OS, 32bit was never so stable or reliable. This OS is built on server 2003 which has a reputation for being fantastically stable and reliable. I think MS stopped developing this OS because they realized it was just too good and they wanted to sell that horrid frankenstein's monster we know as VISTA (wouldn't have it, won't have it if I have a choice). 64bit OS is the new thing, 32 bit is gone and once software is fully developed to take advantage of the extra data pathways in 64 bitcomputing we're going to see the same sort of revolution that happened in 95 with windows 95(32 bit from 16 bit). This is a great OS it's just not very wide spread and it is not a OS that some newbie wants to deal with, you need a bit of skill sometimes to make things work but the immunity to many of the nastier viruses and the extra stability make this a great OS for the somewhat skilled techie computer person.

Summary: Limited Hardware Support
Comment: Are you ready for 64 bit computing? This is just the perfect item to start your 64 bit experience and much better than VISTA. The only set back is the limited hardware support for this OS, as you can only use 64 bit drivers. Be sure to map out your system before purchasing, it will save you time.

Summary: So does this run on Parallels?
Comment: So I notice I can find the best price on this version of Windows.
So my question is has anyone installed this on a Mac running Parallels?
Any help would be appriciated?
Sorry its not really a review but if you could answer this it sure would help quite a few people.
