Summary: Do not leave alone for more than a few minutes!
Comment: Just a hint... Get out a piece of a paper and write down the numbers 000-999. Time yourself. That is the MAXIMUM amount of time you can leave this lock unattended.
If you use this cable lock (or any 3-wheel combination lock) in a hotel room as an alternate "safe" while you are out for the day, any thief will have more than enough time to sit around and leisurely brute force break your combination. On average, the thief will need half the maximum time to do so.

Comment: This lock is excellent for locking your helmet to your bike or locking your bike seat to the frame.

Comment: pros: very useful for travel. Sometimes you want to leave all of your valuables in a hotel room, but do not want to lock up each suitcase individually, or repack each bag. I find that with this lock, I can easily put my clothes and valuables in the closet, and then lock the closet door shut with this lock. The cable is quite long and thin, so it can wrap around handles and inside holes. You can also lock your suitcases to a bar in a train or to a chair if you are traveling but would like to go to sleep.
cons: only con is that the lock is not very small.

Comment: I bought this to lock my helmet to my motorcycle. I just needed something light and easy to store and not super heavy duty. This fit the bill exactly.

Comment: I threw this in the garbage within 5 minutes of getting it. It's too cheap to return to Amazon. A small loose washer was rattling around inside it. This loose washer could lodge itself in the mechanism and cause a malfunction. Better to have a small cable and padlock.
