Skype is one such service that makes this incredible technology as easy to use as a normal telephone. Unfortunately, you always had to be tied to your desktop computer to make these calls. When a Skype call comes in, the handset will ring, displaying your contact's image. And yes, it has the ability to call out via Skype as well. Customer Rating: Summary: Works Excellent! Comment: Works Excellent! All you have to do is call Customer Support if you need help confirguring it. Very easy to use. Insall CD (less than 2 minutes). Plug in USB into the Back of your computer and your phone is ready.
You have to remember that once you plug in your phone, you have to then go back to your Skype Account and allow this phone model to "access Skype". In Skype:
1. Click "Tools"
2. Cilck "Options"
3. Click "Advanced"
4. Click "Manage Other Programs to Access Skype"
5. Change the Settings so that your phone can work with Skype.
Walk all around the house and talk for free. Ditch your landline. This is super! A+!
Customer Rating: Summary: CIT200 Disappoints Comment: My 2-star rating records my disappointment with it's overall performance. It does free the user from the computer, but the price of this freedom has to be counted in lost ability to access skypeout calls, either from the phone or from the computer. In fact, the phone rendered my computer useless as a skype terminal. I can only make skype calls from the phone. This loss of functionality was an unwelcome surprise.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Comment: Have patience to follow the installation steps, and the results would be wonderful... Great quality phone.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is a great product from linksys Comment: I've had this phone for nearly a month, and it is great, The connection with the base works very fine most of the time, Just like in three or four occasions I the phone didn't sense the base, so I had to turn off and then turn on again the phone, this works fine for me.
It doesn't has a lot of options to customize, but for my pursposes, I didn't regret that so much.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works wonderfully!! Comment: I admit I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews, but at the price I thought it was worth a shot. I installed the software without a hitch (Windows XP), charged it for the recommended 14 hours, and made my first call this morning. The sound was incredible, no problems whatsoever, very easy to use. The USB station is at one end of the house and I'm at the other with no signal loss at all. I've got SkypeOut as well as SkypeIn (for a whopping $7/month) and it works beautifully, I'm able to make and receive calls with no problem, it has caller ID on it, and a Skype voicemail indicator as well, so it really is completely separate from the PC. Wonderful product!!
