Customer Rating: Summary: **** DO NOT BUY THIS BLOWER **** Comment: The Poulan model 200LE series is simply a piece of junk. I've owned two of them and they were both worthless. I spent a good deal of time (obviously not enough) comparing performance specifications prior to buying the first Poulan 200LE and thought it would provide a lot of performance for the price. It did....for about 2 months. Then it began to malfunction and eventually wouldn't run. I pulled the cover off and inspected the engine. It was readily apparent what the problem was. The "head bolts" (that's the best description I can give for a 2-cycle engine) were coming out. They were not the screw-in type, but were pressed in and knurled. The engine was coming apart. I returned the blower to the retailer who replaced it with a new one. They indicated that this was a common problem. Hmmm, should have taken a refund instead. But, because I liked the blower and because I "thought" Poulan was a reputable brand, I took the exchange. Blower #2 has lasted somewhat longer (one year). Now it won't start and I took it to a local Authorized Repair Dealer. They told me it was a "throw-away" and not worth fixing. There was no compression, which they said was typical for the cheap engine that Poulan puts in the 200LE series. I cannot imagine an engine completely wearing out in 1 year when used only for about 1/2 hour each week during the summer and early autumn.
Two useless Poulan 200's in a row is enough. I'll not spend any more money on their products.
BUYER BEWARE !
You are warned in advance.
Customer Rating: Summary: Lasted a couple years Comment: Like many others here mine worked fine for about 2 years. Then in the middle of the fall season it just refused to start. Cleaned air filter, cleaned/gapped plug, changed fuel - nothing. I'm assuming I lost compression the way it is pulling. Not worth fixing. So for about [...] a season I rented this thing - not a good deal.
The vac inlet is too short and the design is awkward when you get the bag partly full. I bought this one thinking it would be OK due to the Poulan name. Last time I buy Poulan.
Customer Rating: Summary: Decent product - Does what it's supposed and for a good price. Comment: I wasn't sure I wanted a blower, I've always kinda enjoyed raking, but my back isn't what it used to be and my Wife was encouraging me to 'check into it'. I found this Poulan at my local Sam's Club for $99. I quickly read a couple of reviews on my smart phone and decided to get it.
Assembly was a piece of cake. I followed the instructions to the letter - mixing the included 2-cycle oil with EXACTLY 1 gallon of gas (even rinsed the oil bottle with gas to get it all). Anal - yes - I HATE 2-cycle engines and I know that if the mixture is off by the slightest, the engine will be ruined and/or fail to run well if at all. (notice to other reviewers complaining about not being able to start this unit ... ). As instructed in the manual - I primed it EIGHT pumps, pulled the rope with engine set to FULL CHOKE for 5 pulls, on the 4th pull the engine almost engaged - as instructed, I set it for HALF-CHOKE and it started on the 2nd pull. Also as instructed, I let it warm up for 5 seconds and set the choke to the RUN position.
It's my first blower, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it cleaned off my 100 foot driveway in a couple of minutes!
Time will tell how well the unit holds up ... my likely usage is 85% blowing and 15% vacuuming. I'll also follow the directions and NOT suck up rocks and large sticks - I'll also be sure to drain the fuel system when stored for more than 30-days. (Another notice to other whiners about how theirs smashed on 2nd use OR wouldn't start the 2nd season ...).
Pros:
Inexpensive combo-unit, It's very easy to assemble, has VERY easy to follow instructions, has a 'Fixed' adjustable velocity (i.e. no 'trigger cramps').
Cons:
a bit heavier than I expected, the tubes could be longer, being a 2-cycle engine: it's loud & toxic - but applies to a great deal of hand operated gas powered yard tools.
Customer Rating: Summary: blower review Comment: This is a very good blower/vacuum for the money. It has very good power,is lite, and easy to operate.I am very happy with this machine.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poulan PRO 25cc Blower review Comment: Not as powerful as previous weedeater (similiar) blower I owned and purchased this one to replace. Arrived, started and ran as advertised. Good blower.
