Summary: Immigrant experience
Comment: This is a fun and entertaining movie about a Dominican immigrant, who comes to New York City thinking he'll become rich. He quickly discovers otherwise. Balbuena, the main character is an endearing and funny man.
My only complain was the sound. Sometimes the dialogue was hard to understand. I'm no sound expert, but the sound was not clear and sometimes the speaking parts became very hard to hear. I thought the sound was especially bad in the Dominican scenes. Once in NYC it got better.
The movie is worth watching. I have not yet seen Nueba Yol 3, hopefully this summer I'll get the chance.

Summary: Funny!!!!
Comment: I saw this movies years ago and I had to own it on DVD for myself. Is a story about Orodoto Balbuena who comes from the Dominican Republic to New York to find the American Dream. Only that is not what he'd hope for. The only thing good about coming to New York was meeting Nancy Martinez(His girlfriend).
There is a valuable lesson from the film about today's kids than the ones back home. I don't want to give the movie away but see this movie and you'll fall in love with Balbuena. There is a sequel "Nueva Yol 3" and I wasn't too crazy about it because they continued the movie picking up where they left off from NY... when the the first movie had a wonderful happy ending at DR. But still see it because of the great humor.
