Spotlight customer reviews:

Customer Rating: Summary: Great design for most functions. Good value. Comment: This is the best of 6 different weather stations I have used from Oregon Scientific and La Cross Technologies. My requirements are pretty simple but unfulfilled by most other units:
* A display I can read from across the room: Partial check, I can easily read the time but most other functions are small.
* Simultaneous display of in-room and remote temperature: Check, plus it can cycle among 3 remote stations continuously.
* Aesthetically pleasing: Big check, this is one of the nicest looking weather units. Its remote sensor also looks good and has a large display.
In addition to weather functions, this unit also has alarm, ceiling display, and radio functions. Each of these is flawed. The alarm is awkward to set, thought probably not more than many digital clocks. The ceiling display is only on when the top button is depressed, which also turns on the clock light. What's the point of the ceiling display? Finally, the radio has mediocre sound.
Contrary to other reviews, I find that this unit has excellent reception. I have had no problems with it in over a month. I have ordered three more units. A second for myself and two others for gifts.
As with most weather stations, the controls are not very intuitive. Those that are most commonly used are reasonable. The others require reference to the user manual for each use.
At around $40 this unit is a very good value. At list price, it is most definitely not.
Customer Rating: Summary: Exactly what I was looking for. Comment: "This clock has everything I was Looking for 1) Atomic Time, 2) ALWAYS illuminated can see the time 24/7 w/o having to press the "light" button, 3) AC Power. Although not an option I needed it also projects the time on the ceiling, I strongly suggest going to the manufacturers page and looking up this item, lots of features not mentioned here. Takes a bit to set up, instructions could be better"
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice clock & weather station, very poor radio Comment: This product is something of a disappointment. I bought it to use as a clock radio, but ended up keeping it because of the weather station functions.
The radio has very poor sensitivity, with none of the local FM stations receivable at full quieting.
The clock works as advertised, and sets itself to WWVB.
The temperature, humidity and barometer displays also work well.
Customer Rating: Summary: A total piece of misrepresented junk! Comment: Buyer beware! This item is junk with a cheesy am/fm radio that hardly works and a power supply that keeps falling out. It is not a "full weather" station by any stretch of the imagination. The moon phases does not work, period.
The typical protective decal that comes over the front of this features a date of 2003. This is obviously ancient stock that no one else wanted. I question the 80% savings over its last actually going price.
Move on to another product.
