Comment: Well, it works. Took all of 30 seconds to set up: pop batteries in (not included), slide bait in (included), place in mouse-trodden area, and, as the easy to read and amusing instructions indicate, go watch TV.
In a matter of hours, I heard a zzzzap sound. Waited until the sound had stopped, went to check, and the light was flashing. I am very squeamish and I live alone, so I was glad not to have to see it suffer or deal with a messy crime scene. I tipped it into a bag, tied the bag off, and threw it out. That part, I have to say, was not fun. But that's due to my squeamishness, not the product. (Understand, I am so squeamish that I wore gloves, although you never have to touch the wee beast.)
The Zapper works well and is an improvement over the cruelty and general inckiness of traditional methods. I don't know why major hardware stores don't stock this, especially in NYC, where rodents are a sad fact of life. They'd make a fortune from sqeamish singles like me. As it is, Amazon's (and the seller's) service was prompt and efficient. The chain stores are missing out.
This is only my first night using it, so I am withholding one star-- I want to see how long it lasts, and whether it seems to actually curb my mouse problem. Unfortunately, if you see one mouse, there are more you don't see. (I know, I know. EW.) I will not hesitate to give the Zapper the full 5 stars once I am confident it's making a difference.
If you are not comfortable with unsafe poisons, disgusting snap traps, evil glue traps, or ineffecient live catch, or if these methods have not worked for you, I certainly recommend the Zapper. You'll probably end up spending an equivalent amount on replacement traps or exterminators, anyway.
And good luck, everyone, with your rodent problems! It can feel like you're under siege in your own home, especially if you live alone, so I sympathize with your stories. This product might be just what you're looking for.

Summary: Rat Zapper Utra- No Mice after Red Light Blinking
Comment: I set up the Rat Zapper Ultra with new AKALINE D batteries. The second day the red light was blinking but no mouse and than fourth day red light blinking no mouse. It has been over two weeks no mice killed.

Comment: Item was shipped as stated. The rat zapper is true to its word! We got one of our unwelcome houseguests within 5 minutes of turning it on. Haven't seen his friends in awhile, but keeping our fingers crossed that is because they're aren't any more.

Comment: I have been using 2 rat zapper Ultras and 1 regular rat zapper and they do work! We live in the country and get alot of mice and rats and big ones too (One looked like a baby possum that barely was able to fit in the trap)and the Rat Zapper Ultra seems to be the better of the 2 and I have replaced batteries 1 time in 3 months. Over 50 of these varments ZAP! and no mess and I just use 2 or 3 pieces of dog food for bait. It is so much better than LIVE spring traps since we have 2 dogs in the house so there is no worry to them and the one dog usually lets us know when a rat has been zap haha! I would have never imagined such a thing but thanks so much!

Summary: IT WORKED! IT WORKED!
Comment: It is great. I just received it yesterday and put it down last night, hoping to catch the little mouse that has been running around the house leaving droppings and scaring my roommate at every turn. This morning we woke up and saw the red light blinking. We had caught the little one. I'm so happy. I"m doing flips in my head seriously. From what I was told by the person I got to pour the little mouse in the trash, it looked just like the box. LOL The product is amazing. Great buy.
