Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful Temple Bells Comment: I selected these bells because I prefer the quieter sound compared to regular wind chimes. They fit the bill perfectly. The bell don't resonate as long as wind chimes and create a softer tone that doesn't become annoying.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful wind chime!!!!! Comment: My favorite wind chime, it's beautiful and different than most garden variety wind chimes. great sound (tons of sound) may be a little overwhelming in high wind areas.
Customer Rating: Summary: Beautiful wind chimes Comment: The wind chimes were a great hit when we opened Christmas presents. I originally saw this at the Chicago Botanic Gardens, but ended up buying them online. Good shipping....but these bells are light as a feather, so don't be concerned when you get a box that feels like there's nothing in it!
Customer Rating: Summary: BEAUTIFUL sound Comment: I absolutely LOVE this copper Woodstock Temple bells. The sound is so relaxing. I highly recommend this. I will be buying my second.
Customer Rating: Summary: 41/2 Bang a Gong Comment: Woodstock Chimes are probably the most popular, and they're well constructed, balanced, and cleverly promoted. Some of their chimes, for example, have tubes that sound the first few notes of a classical piece. You not only get the pleasing sound of the chimes, but the pleasure of recognizing (or telling someone about) an ACTUAL musical work.
SOme may prefer the more direct aesthetic of these "bells." WIth its simple, classic design, and pleasing sounds, the chime doesn't seem to strive for something it is not. OF course, Woodstock sells these as "Temple Bells," but there's nothing inherently religious, sacred, or otherwise "Temply" about them.
That said, the Temple Bells sound is more subtle than chimes; I'd say they were more like muted bells, with little sustain. For those who want something quieter, perhaps more meditative, these may be the way to go. You can hear them, but they aren't so jangly or high-pitched become either annoying or cheap-sounding. Another excellent product, fairly priced, from Woodstock
