Editorial Reviews:

Based on the syndicated comic strip of Aaron MacGruder one of only a few African American cartoonists and arguably the most successful this animated show appeared on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. MacGruder satirizes race relations and contemporary culture in a dry cynical way that pulls no punches and generates a great deal of controversy along the way. The show follows protagonist Huey a 10-year-old revolutionary-in-training and Riley his 8-year-old brother and future gangsta. The boys have been moved from their home on Chicago's South Side to the suburban "boondocks" to live with their grandfather where they get into trouble and comment freely upon the idiosyncracies--to put it mildly--of the white people in whose culture they are now immersed. In season one Huey and Riley debate R. Kelly Huey directs "The Adventures of Black Jesus" for the school Christmas play and Grandad opens up Woodcrest's first soul-food restaurant.System Requirements:Running Time 318 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: TELEVISION/SERIES & SEQUELS Rating: NR UPC: 043396146136 Manufacturer No: 14613

Summary: Horrific Violence
Comment: I hate the fact that colored people hurt and kill other innocent colored people for absolutely no reason at all. This show has to be the most disgusting, offensive and mean-spirited trash I have ever watched in my life. I'm not being cross or anything, I just hate to see other people get mauled just for fun. It's so horrible, I don't know how to explain it. The cursing and blood in this "garbage" people call a show is so graphic, it's disgusting.

Overall, this show is an insult to the life of a TV viewer. I feel it is such a disgrace, that I honestly wish Cartoon Network would take it off of the air. If you want to see a funny show about colored people, see "Family Matters."

Summary: Powerful
Comment: This is one of the Greatest shows on Television. It is a comical look at the culture of both white and black people. From the beginning it shows the ignorance on both sides of the spectrum and point out the faults in today's society while still being funny.

However, there are those who think they see through the show to nothing more than a shallow interior and to those people I say get a grip. This show is well written and brilliantly original. The Characters are much deeper than made out to be, however you all have gotten it into your ignorant skulls that they are nothing more than trash talking fools. You cannot see how each character has been specifically molded based on their backgrounds and their environment. So get a grip if you don't like this show than you cannot watch south park either cause it is just as offensive.

Despite the few ones this DVD is NOT ignorant dribble from an angry minority, but a close, careful, and comical look at the faults with black culture as well as a broader look at the faults with the greater society.

Summary: Life lessons for all who view
Comment: "I am the stone that the building refused"....is how the series begins and as you watch you will understand this and the opinions and insights of Huey's monologues.
