Comment: We have seven fans throughout the house ranging from an industrial floor fan kept in the bedroom corner for super hot night to this little Vornado which is my personal fan. I keep this on the vanity & have used it every single day for the last four years with absolutely no problems. I've forgotten and left it on for several days, again, no problems. If you, your kids or your animals happen to put their finger in the "blades" it just makes a noise like a playing card in your bicycle spokes.... exactly like that, as a matter of fact. I got mine at Staples, for more money than what Amazon is offering it for here..... I would recommend this fan to anyone that wants a fan right on them while they work at their desk, etc. The mobility and move-ability of the fan is fantastic & the simplicity of the design, I suspect, is what allows it to run like the energizer rabbit without every breaking down....
great investment. go for it. Customer Rating: Summary: great little circulator Comment: I found this in BB&B in the as-is dept. I only picked it up and gave it some thought because it had the name vornado on it. Even with the Vornado name I still didn't think this thing would have any power watsoever. And when I saw the cloth arms I knew for sure this thing wouldn't be able to blow anything, much less air. Fortunately for me there were power strips all over BB&B, so I plugged up the little fan and took it for a spin. WOW, was I surprised at the wind that came out of this thing. Maybe I started out with very low expectations, that's why I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of air that came out of these cloth arms. It's a good amount of breeze for the size of the same. I actually cool off with this thing. I definately don't expect it to circulate a room, that's asking to much for something this small. But I put it next to me on the desk and it does it's job, it cools me off and my long hair is whizzing all over my face, I have to pin up my bangs so I can see. I love this thing, it wasn't a waste of money!
The only thing I have to complain about is the level setting, there are two level settings and the first one is ok, but I always have to set it to level two cause that's where all the strength is, I do wish there was a level three. Customer Rating: Summary: Great desk fan Comment: I have seen some other reviews that are mixed, but the bottom line is, this is a very capable desk fan. It is not powerful enough to move air in a room. The two added benefits are that it is fairly quiet (I sometimes accidently leave it on overnight) and it looks cool. I appreciate the two speed switch on the back and almost exclusively use the high speed. If you want more power you can get a bigger fan that takes up more space on your desk, but I personally am very satisfied. The only things that would make this better are a slightly longer cord (to run through the desk, etc) and a third speed. It would also be convenient if the power switch were easier to access and not located on the back of the unit. All these are minor issues that wouldn't stop me from making the same choice again. The Zippi is not a Circulator, but rather a compact personal fan. I'm disappointed with the many Vornado owners who are comparing the Zippi to the circulators.

It is Personal because it is meant to be sitting in front of its master faithfully fanning him or her.
It's Portable, because it will fit even in a personal briefcase or even a purse.
It is Compact as it folds to become the size of a softball.
It is silent: Speed 1 is totally stealth, while at speed 2 you can barely hear it.
It is powerful as it provides a gentle but solid breeze in stealth mode (Speed 1); or a strong breeze at speed 2.
It is Super Cute, resembling a prop airplane motor with its exposed blades and airplane like nose cone.

Customer Rating: Summary: Broke Quickly - Warranty Useless Comment: Fan was exactly what I was looking for - very quiet. However, after four months of occassional use, the fan died on me -- couldn't be restarted. I tried to use the warranty, but the cost of shipping was prohibitive. Note that several other reviewers had similar problems.
Great idea - if Vornado makes a more durable version I'd buy a new one in a second. But a fan that doesn't last more than four months is a waste of money.
