Summary: Awesome humidifier; could be improved though.
Comment: This thing rocks as a humidifier. We keep our house at 50% humidity and it works great. However, No joke the first time we went to fill the water jug it slipped out of my wifes hand and fell in the sink and split the plastic of one of the jugs for water. This is something that I think should be improved. We ordered a new one for $20 and used some plastic epoxy to seal the old "new" one to use as a spare.
My only other complaint is that this works so well that I continually have to refill the darn thing. It seems wierd to complain that it works too well! I guess that if they were bigger that would be nice but they are already hefty so that is probably impractical.
We have not had any problems with it falling apart as it is four different pieces just sitting together. I guess if you aren't conscious of it you could push it wrongly and push it apart. Never happened to us.

Comment: I live in a desert climate. I suffer allergy from spring until the first snow, so I need not only a humidifier and also an air washer too. Last year I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to buy an air cleaner, but the sale person recommend me to buy a humidifier with air wash function. I bought a small Venta and very happy with it. It does what it says to clean the air and humidify. The only draw back is the price. The small unit is only good for our master bedroom. It does help us to sleep comfortable. By spring I really want one to use in the family room and kitchen area, but $400 Venta I can't afford.
I found Honeywell one by searching the Amazon and read the review and bought it right a way. It is big enough to work in the family room and kitchen area.
I set the humidity at 47 and let it runs constantly. I need to refill both water bottles every night. I don't feel the water bottle is so hard to refill like other people said. Also I use soft water, I don't have to worry the deposit but I do use Bacterio- Static since I use it for Venta too.
Since I have the unit for almost two weeks. The filter is good, no smell. I do empty base and rinse every other day. It does what it says to air wash. I find debris and dust etc. some time small flying bugs at the base.
I am very happy with this unit as good as Venta and cheaper but only thing of my complaint is even run at low is still to loud for me!

Comment: First, the good news: It works well and is reasonably quiet for an evaporative humidifier. The humidistat is accurate.
The bad news:
The wick will become moldy and unless you remove the fan/control cover, you won't notice it. Furthermore, in an effort to give the unit a rounded style, the designers created water tanks that are clumsy to refill.
I recommend steamer-type humidifiers because they are quieter and don't become moldy. I can't use one in this case because it is in an aviary and my birds could be injured by steam.
Overall, a good humidifier that could be better.

Comment: I have been using this humidifier for about a month, and am very happy with my purchase. Initially I was distressed when I assembled everything but nothing happened when I turned the unit on, the same experience described in another review. However I called customer service and within 2 minutes the unit was operating fine.
The unit is loud, but I am the lucky person who can can sleep through noise. The water tanks are clumsy but filling them is not a tedious chore. And when it is cold, I do wonder why I am creating more cold air. However these are minor inconveniences compared to the nasal relief.
In a time when retail service is minimal, these customer product reviews serve are a valuable referral source. When the amount of information becomes confusing, I give priority to a company who supports their product as Honeywell (KAZ) does.

Summary: Will I ever get the rest of this product???
Comment: Ordered this item well over a month ago. the right water tank was cracked. Called the company (you talk to a company called KAZ, not Honeywell). They send you another one in 7-10 days (seems kinda long to me). They sent me a left tank (in 7-10 days), not a right one. Called back, they sent out ANOTHER left tank (in 7-10 days). Called back, the sent out ANOTHER left tank! I now have 4 left tanks, and no right one. This time, the man says he will send the right one, but I can use it anyway with just one tank. would have been nice if someone told me that earlier.
anyway, no offer to expedite shipping, not much of an apology. When they mail the tanks, the mailing materials are so cheap that the new tank could easily be damaged. OH, and they don't even want the wrong tanks back...so strange.
keep your fingers crossed for me.
The unit is pretty cool, I'm sure it will be better and less noisy when both water tanks are on it.
