The range of drum kits built into the SB-246 is amazing. It has the features of the RT-223 model with all new hip hop sound samples. Over 70 drum kits are built-in, with acoustic drum sounds for rock, R&B, funk, and jazz. Add an analog rhythm machine great for Techno and Hip Hop. Ethnic percussion sounds are available. There are five human voice ?Beat Box" style percussion kits. Create advanced rhythm tracks where kick, snare, scratch and other instrument sounds are expressed as human voices. A drum kit consists of 13 pads x 3 banks equalling 39 sounds per kit. Sound sources can be freely selected and assigned to the pads. Fine-tune parameters such as pitch, level, and panning to create original drum kits. The Bass Machine lets users choose from electric bass styles such as Pick, Finger, and Slap. Or select Acoustic Bass, Synthesizer Bass, or one of the other bass sources, more than 25 in total. To create a bass line, users play the pads with assigned chromatic pitches just like a keyboard. A dedicated switch mutes the bass sound at any time.

Summary: Beat-Maker at Heart
Comment: This product is a great starting point for anyone who is a true beat junkie, listens to the hot beat compilations on the radio and says to themselves "I know I can create something like that...even better". Go after this product and become your own "producer of nasty beats". This product is easy enough to begin at the lowest level of beat machine experience and being able to look abd sound like a serious track master. I also love the portability of the unit - easy to carry anywhere to ensure you get that spontanous beat in your head gets down and saved on a track. I highly suggest purchasing this product. Also great for manual licks when percusion is needed at Church service/functions (Praise Him). The only negatives I have is the fact that they do not include an A/C adaptor (sold separately), however the 4 AA batteries last a long time.
