Running back and forth to the gas station to fill up car and bike tires, lawnmower wheels, boat trailers, and all those things that tend to go flat in the off season can get, well, tiresome. Cut out the back and forth with Black & Decker's air station inflator. This handy unit plugs into any 120 volt outlet in the shop, or garage to quickly and conveniently pump up sports balls, tires, air mattresses and more. It also plugs into auto cigarette lighters and doesn't take up much space in the car, boat, or camper for inflating sleeping pads and tires. The inflator easily inflates tires up to 200 psi. And, there's no more guessing when the tire is filled to capacity. The inflator is equipped with Black & Decker's EZ air dial that automatically shuts off once you've hit the desired psi. Convenient on-board cord, needle, and hose storage keeps all the goods in one place so that you don't have to hunt down the needle to take care of that hard-to-bounce basketball. --Brian D. Olson What's in the Box Standard tire nozzle, needle inflator, extension nozzle.

Spotlight customer reviews:

Customer Rating: Summary: Works well, good value Comment: I am pleased with this inflator so far. (I hedge a bit, given the reviews stating that the device has failed for other users. But that's what the warranty is for.) It is easy to use, effective, and convenient with its storage compartment for power cords and inflation hose. I especially like the automatic cutoff feature; I can turn it on and let it do its thing while I'm doing something else. I run my automobile tires at higher pressures than most (60 PSI), and it had no trouble with those. It takes a couple of minutes, of course, but that's to be expected -- this is not a mechanic's air compressor, and I don't expect that level of performance. I haven't tried them on my higher pressure (90 PSI) bicycle tires yet.
Negatives that other reviewers have mentioned and my comments:
* Gauge readability: Yes, it's a little hard to discern small PSI increments on the gauge. But I never rely totally on any pump's or inflator's built-in gauge for my tires; I always verify with a good quality tire pressure gauge. The inflator's gauge and cut-off get me in the ballpark, and then I fine-tune using the tire pressure gauge. They are within 1 or 2 PSI of each other.
* AC power cord length: Not an issue. I likely would have to use an extension cord anyway. And the short power cord adds a bit to its portability -- no fiddling with it or trying to store a long (and useless while traveling) power cord with the device as it sits in my trunk.
* Noise: No worse than any other inflator I've used.
* Small storage compartment for cords and hose: Not too much of a problem, though it might take a little practice to get them coiled up the right way. It's handy to have the compartment.
* Short inflation hose. No shorter than other inflators in this price range I've used. Plenty long enough to reach a valve stem at top dead center with the device on the ground next to the tire.
* Plastic connector that *might* break. I'll judge it if or when it actually breaks, not before.
* Having to cut the power switch off and then on again to run it after an automatic cutoff: Gimme a break, how big a deal is that??
Customer Rating: Summary: Works Good As Expected Comment: I used the air station to blow up my son's baby pool and it worked fast.
So far it's been a good purchase.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Comment: Just received my inflator a few hours ago. Toddled out to air up a tire that has a slow leak and top off the others. Overall it did what it's supposed to and a little faster and lot less noisily than the Slime inflator I had that was never worth a flip. Wasn't as fast as I thought it would be but I think I expected too much. I don't mind the fact that you have to turn it off between tires because it gives it a couple minutes to cool down. My only peeve with it right off the bat is one common to most machines of this type. It's got a great little compartment to wind up the cords and shut the lid on. I jussst pulled the electrical plug far enough out to plug it in to my extension cord and of course had to pull the air hose out to its full length. Think it would go back in all neat and tidy as it came out? I can see that if I use it much on a day when I'm not extremely patient, the door cover is going to get snapped right off from trying to push it down over the cord/line that won't fit back in. Overall it's ok based on extremely limited experience. I'll update later and address durability.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good Value, a little cheap on the attachments Comment: Overall the air station performs well. My only complaint is the attachment pieces are plastic and do not secure very well to the hose. I think they could have spent a few more dollars and supplied ones that were better made and longer lasting. I guess this is true of most things made today - cut corners wherever possible to stay competitive. I gave it a 4 star since the pump itself seems to perform acceptably.
Customer Rating: Summary: Buy the Bon-Aire instead! Comment: I fill up bike tires for my kids, basketballs, soccer balls, dolly wheels and air mattresses and this is a piece of junk for me. I was willing to buy this and the Bon-Aire model at the same time, just knowing one version would be the clear winner "out of the box", and I was right! The Bon-Aire has MUCH long cords and hoses for simplicity. The Black and Decker? YUK.
