Customer Rating: Summary: Almost Decent Comment: This flashlight is well made and a definite upgrade over incandescent flashlights. However, as far as LED lights go, this isn't very bright. The Duracell Daylite flashlights seem like they put out almost twice the brightness, and its flood beam is way brighter than the Mag's.
Mag has been traditionally a reliable tool, however, they're definitely losing their edge with the introduction of the LED.
Customer Rating: Summary: small tight LED flashlight Comment: It is a small but strong LED flashlight with option to focus light as you wish - diffused or spotted. It took me a few seconds to find out how to turn it on, but after that i felt that it was an excellent choice.
Customer Rating: Summary: This rocks Comment: I love this flashlight. Small, pretty darned bright, great battery life and tough as nails. Sure... If your a flashlight geek (Google "flashlight" and you'll see how seriously some folks take their flashlights) you will find better devices... And they'll cost a lot more. This is a great "everypersons" light.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good Flashlight! Comment: I've had this light for about four months now, as I got is as an X-Mas present in 07. It's a BIG step up from the non-LED version in terms of brightness and longevity. I'll admit that I am just a bit disappointed in the increase in overall length, but on the whole it's a very good trade off. I usually keep mine in the car, but I've been carrying it for a couple of days in the leather open-ended holster that Mag was selling through Target a year or so back -- and it's a huge improvement over the nylon case that ships with the light. I would also agree with some of the other reviewers here that this is NOT a Sure Fire replacement flashlight -- I have one of those also (a G2), and it does long distance much much better than this one from Mag. But for distances of 25 feet or less, or used in the stand-up candle mode in a bedroom, this is a GREAT light. I'd say it's probably not ideal for the nightstand to be used for the run-to-the-little-boys-room-in-the-middle-of-the-night, because it would seem to be too bright with sleepy eyes. What I would say that it is ideal for is the car, as an emergency light because it's going to be more than adequate for any roadside emergencies, and it should last a long time in that capacity. Don't forget that the AA's can be replaced easily and cheaply in a pinch, where the other lights (ie Sure Fire and Streamlight) need the CR123 batteries -- not easy to come by at the local Circle K or 7-11. For the price (around $20), it's a very good flashlight of excellent quality. I've never had any problems with any of the Mag products I've owned, and I've had a few. If you like what you see here, then it's worth the price of admission to have one - especially if you have the older AA non-LED light and like it, you'll love this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Can't get Amber lens cover Comment: I bought this with the accessory pack for Amber lens on the advice of my flight instructor. The accessory pack description is incorrect as it does not include an Amber lens. Apparently Mag has stopped making that.
This is a good flashlight, but dissapointed with Mag.
