Editorial Reviews:

As a reworking of the anime series FULL METAL PANIC! FUMOFFU follows its predecessor's basic fish-out-of-water premise with the same zany blend of action and comedy. But while popular teenage schoolgirl Kaname Chidori is still being protected from the machinations of an evil terrorist organization by undercover secret agent Sousuke Sagara this time around the emphasis is on the series' comedic rather than action-oriented elements. The main thrust of the comedy stems from the military-trained Sagara's inability to blend into normal teenage society his overzealous protection of Kaname (everything from impromptu gunfights to poorly-planned explosions) and a strangely sweet romance between the disastrously mismatched couple. This collection presents the anime series in its entirety for a total of 12 episodes.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: ANIMATION/ADULT SWIM Rating: NR UPC: 702727146329 Manufacturer No: DFMF/BX2

Summary: Not a real season- skip this 1
Comment: I bought this series because the 1st season was so action packed with a bit of comic relief. Well this isn't even considered to be a real season in the series. It consist of nothing but filler episodes taking place in school. The plot of Sousuke being a clueless commando when it comes to Kaname is lame and wears out fast- real fast! Not to mention he has no common sense. Several times students will slip notes into his locker as all students do at 1 time or another. Sousuke- with his military training can tell his locker was tampered with and uses dynamite to blow it up? WTF?! It wasn't funny the 1st time and it wasn't funny each time after that. How does he get guns and dynamite into a school undetected anyways?

Summary: Seriously funny and a great comedy...
Comment: For all you be known. This series is a parody to hold fans off while the continuation to the first season was finished (i.e. FMP: The Second Raid). On that note this series was a great little distraction while waiting for the second season to release! Full of laughs and fan service (not extreme though). If your a fan or the series BUY IT! Even if not a fan u might actually like this it's along the lines of Excel Saga but u can follow the story not just off the wall antics.

Summary: super hilarious
Comment: This is a must-buy for anyone who saw any of the other FMP series. Even if you haven't, I guarantee you'll enjoy this one.

I liked the originals too, which were more of a mix of drama and comedy. This series is straight comedic silliness. Just fun and hilarity. Those guys definitely need a break and so do we, as fans of the series. The soundtrack is also very good; check it out.

Summary: Good Fun
Comment: This is a fun set of episodes based on our favorite characters from Full Metal Panic and their day-to-day antics (minus any serious drama.) There's a lot of silly episodes and moments where you can't help but laugh out loud.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I wasn't drawn into episode after episode. I'd watch one or two episodes and then not touch it again for a couple of weeks. There's no story arc keeping the episodes connected (there is one arc that keeps 2 episodes together which happened to be my favorite episodes in the set) and each episode stands on it's own. It's easy then to randomly watch one episode in any order and to pick up and watch this even if you've never seen FMP. It's a lot like Family Guy or South Park in that sense and there are a lot of seriously funny moments but if you're looking for any sort of progressive development or engaging story lines, you won't find it here.

Still recommended as an entertaining set of stand alone episodes.

Summary: Hilarious
Comment: I don't consider myself a very big anime fan, but this show in particular is very well done and intelligent. Fumoffu is the second season, but unlike the other two, it focuses entirely on Sousuke and Kaname's slapstick highschool comedy. This season spoofs many things, notably other anime, but also makes references to various other shows including "Apocalypse Now," "Rambo," and the "A-Team." It is one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
