2007 second volume of unreleased Orb treasures. Few artists have created such visionary and influential Electronic music as Alex Paterson and his various incarnations of The Orb. The Orb's blissed-out music helped define the emerging Ambient-Techno/House genres blending natural sounds, spoken-word, heavy dub bass lines and constantly shifting beats with a wry sense of humor, rolling rhythms and exhilarating samples to revolutionize UK dance clubs, '90s rave culture and influence a whole generation of artists now plying their trade in the 21st century. This second collection features collaborations with legendary German composer Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Thomas Fehlmann, Andy Hughes, Vincent "vin100" Crane and Alex's long-standing friend and musical accomplice Youth. Malicious Damage.

Customer Rating: Summary: this is the dubbed out orb i've been waiting for Comment: this is the release to spend the $ on. if you, like me, have grown tired of the housed out orb (okey dokey etc), then this is a true return to the form that made the orb essential listening.
sampledelic, dubbed, and mad!
looking forward to the new release - the dream-. i hear it has youth on board. less house, more dub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: it rocks Comment: There are some thrilling tracks here that were cut from the Orb's Cydonia album - they feel light like Little Fluffy Clouds but have the textures, the density, and the increased insanity of the Orb's later works. It's like Orblivion in the daytime. A couple darker tracks - some from the "nonexistent" Badorb release - and an ominous note in the box remind that the future (that's right now folks) doesn't always feel this good. A couple sample collages feel pointless and the last track is painfully short - but overall this seems far more alive and consistent than the first Orbsessions. Get it, love it!
