Summary: Polo scent is a classic. Deodorant Stick is Effective.
Comment: My sexy husband has been smelling like Polo for the eighteen years we have been married. He has tried other scents (usually gifted to him by my mother who will buy anything new at the fragrance counter), but he always comes back to this old favorite.
Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez, in their fabulous book, Perfumes: The Guide, describe the scent of Polo as "dry oakmoss," give it four out of five stars and rave: "Polo has a relaxed, expansive feeling in a comfortingly conservative way, like short hair combed neatly in a straight side part on a fellow otherwise charmingly shabby. No wonder some men have worn it all their lives...this stuff smells fantastic."
I don't know about the shabby part, but my husband is charming, and he has worn this scent most of his life, and I love it.
The deodorant stick is long-lasting and has the great Polo scent. My husband prefers the deodorant to the antiperspirant because he says it's easier on his skin and smells more like Polo.
The only drawback I can think of is that the stuff is a tad pricey. The good news is that it's cheaper online than at the department store, especially if you buy several at a time to save on postage charges. Actually the same is true for the entire Polo line -- cheaper online. The deodorant and the cologne together make a nice gift.
